My journey as a soccer player has shaped my professional career. Working in live events, activations & tradeshows has many similarities to the soccer pitch. Here are my 3 key analogies: 1. Teamwork and Communication 🤝🗣️ - In soccer, players must work together and speak well. This is important in events and sales too. Clear talking and working together are needed for success. Do you ever feel like you're on the losing end of a tug-of-war match with client budgets shrinking yet you're being asked to get more performance? 🤷♂️ Life is like a tug-of-war competition. We're in the middle of the rope and people around us have a strong influence on our behaviour pulling us in different directions. The stronger the team, the more likely we are to end up like them. If more people around us exercise and eat healthily, the better the chance we have of adopting these habits, but if more people around us smoke and drink heavily, we'll likely do the same. It's the same with brands. If more people order from Dominos, I'm less likely to order a Pizza Hut. 🍕 And this is the tug of war you're in with your marketing campaigns. Every person is surrounded by competing, real-world influence. And just like you shouldn't enter a tug-of-war competition with the England rugby team, you shouldn't be trying to fight where your influence is low. Sure, you want to be everywhere, but fighting where your weak is not the answer. 🙉 Find the areas where you have real-world influence on your side and it's like adding Mr T. as the anchor to your tug-of-war team. Unstoppable. So if you're bored of continually feeling like you're going to get pulled over, focus on areas where you have real-world influence and you'll be winning in no time. Something I'm researching right now - sports teams that do cool, and what makes them cool. Here's my scoring system - and a cool team to start. 🍌 Some teams I'm currently researching include AFC Ajax Borussia Dortmund Bay FC Juventus Football Club Crusaders Exeter Chiefs Jokerit Helsinki Knight Riders Sports - Kolkata, Trinbago, Abu Dhabi and Los Angeles Knight Riders Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club Inc. Somerset County Cricket Club Maccabi Tel-Aviv Basketball Club Clube de Regatas do Flamengo Savannah Bananas Each of these teams exhibits a mix of on-field success, star players, strong fan engagement, distinctive brand aesthetics, and cultural impact. This makes them "cool" in their respective sports and regions. This list is not exhaustive, and coolness can be subjective, for sure. Other teams might also fit the criteria depending on individual preferences and local contexts. Who would you include? Who should I look at? Who does cool? Winning is what it's all about, but you can also win in other ways... such as gourmet dining facilities at a ballpark... immersive fan experiences... or with the senior-citizen dance team, the Banana Nanas, where the Bananas team have a mission of "Fans First. Entertain Always." I would score the Bananas pretty high on the coolness scale. 🍌 ⚾ #innovation #culture #creativity

Hello Sayyar How does it add value? How does the brand benefit? How can you associate the attributes if both offer different experiences? Educate me, please For non-Saudis or GCC citizens, everyone will remember Messi, not the hosting brand. Remembering the name of a brand that hosted Messi without understanding the basic attributes of the hosting brand and its relevance and relatability to influence impact would likely result in a short-lived jingle created by creative and advertising agencies. That's how most brands are eventually forgotten.
