The teams at I&I Sling Inc. and Yale Cordage are proud to have contributed to the critical salvage and recovery work at the Francis Scott Key Bridge. Part of this contribution consisted of donating two sets of Yale Cordage Fortis slings. With a vertical rated capacity of 338,000 lbs, each Fortis sling played a vital role in lifting extremely heavy steel and bridge components. A huge thank you to Seaward Marine Corporation and United Demo whose expertise and dedication during this project is truly commendable. We are proud that these Fortis slings were utilized during this challenging project. Together, we’re helping rebuild and restore essential infrastructure. #Construction #Infrastructure #Teamwork #YaleCordage #FSKBridge

Miro has pledged and donated funds to the SEAC - Structural Engineers Association of Colorado Wind Committee Fundraiser to create a revised Colorado wind speed study, which will correctly define and fully cover the Front Range Special Wind Region. This important study focuses on wind speed data that was used to develop a 50-year map in 2006 due to a lack of knowledge of design level wind speeds for the Front Range Area. With Colorado experiencing increasingly high wind speeds these past several years, the committee was prompted to continuously aid in the development of the Colorado Front Range Gust Map and provide education on how to apply the wind load provisions of ASCE 7 to Colorado. SEAC has reached $40,000 of its $50,000 minimum goal on their Wind Committee Fundraiser; you can join us with this important study by donating to them at the following link: https://lnkd.in/g35Sk_Ts #SAMiroInc #SAMiro #Miro #ConsultingEngineers #SEAC #StructuralEngineering #EngineersofColorado #wind #frontrange #colorado #fundraiser

The team are dealing with the low pressure system that stands between them and the trade winds...but the winds have built up too much and the team have had to deploy the para-anchor. 🪂 • What is a para-anchor? We hear you cry - this image give you an idea! 💡 • Essentially we're talking about an underwater parachute - and when the team are experiencing head winds and can't make any progress, they can tie one end of it to the bow, throw the parachute in the water, the parachute sinks, the boat continues being blown in the wrong direction...until the 70 metre long line becomes taut, at which point the parachute 'inflates' with sea water, and slows their drift Eastward dramatically. 🐌 • Once it's time to get going again, they have an even longer 95 metre retrieval line that is attached to the crown of the parachute, so that when it is pulled, it collapses the canopy and it can be safely brought back onto the boat. 👌 • It looks like they'll stay on para-anchor tonight but tomorrow may be good enough to get going again. 🤞 • IMPORTANTLY: their track will look super weird on the tracker whilst they're on para-anchor, do not panic, this is as expected. 👍 • Throughout this crossing the team will be raising money for Get A-Head Charitable Trust and Meningitis Now - please donate today at www.thebrightsidesrow.com 🌐 • Lodders Solicitors LLP Bromwich Hardy • #thebrightsides #brightsides #oceanrowing #rannoch #atlanticocean #atlanticrow #oceanrow #oceanlife #rowing #rowinglife #atlanticdash #getahead #meningitisnow

The Common Ground Alliance (CGA), is a national non-profit trade association dedicated to protecting underground utility lines, excavators, and their communities. The recent DIRT REPORT has shown that damages have been increasing year over year. These trends are disturbing for our industry, and I believe that this number is actually low. We have received countless calls “after the fact” from excavators. They always go like this: “We hit a utility line. Can you send a locator? At Frontier, we understand the importance of getting utility locates completed before your project starts. An initial call to Ontario One Call will inform all participating Utility Service Providers of your intention to dig. This will take care of your Public Locates. A second call to a Private Locate company, like Frontier, will get your private locates completed. Voilà! Once you have reports in your hands, you are ready to go and most importantly, you will be SAFE! CALL BEFORE YOU DIG. #damageprevention #callbeforeyoudig #undergroundutilities #callfrontier #frontierutilitylocating #frontierlocating #getyourlocatesdone #utilitylocating #whatisinyourbackyard #safetyfirst #utilitymapping #privatelocates #privatelocator

TDL Industrial is a family; a company that builds from the heart. When our Founder Dan Lokeni tragically lost his son, Ta'imua'iao Dayne Lokeni (TDL), he developed a vision of a company that could lift his brothers and sisters and honor the memory of his son. When you are part of TDL, you are part of something bigger than yourself, and every job helps us achieve a greater purpose. At TDL, we work for eachother. The company acts like an employee-owned non-profit and distributes the earnings equitably. A portion of our earnings go to philanthropic projects in our home country to alleviate poverty. This incentivizes our team to do their best work and deliver the project faster, benefiting all parties. Unlike traditional steel erectors who are incentivized to do the minimum amount of work in an hour, we are motivated to save manhours by working harder, smarter, and more effectively. Truly, this unselfish way of doing business has the power to revolutionize the industry. Sometimes, out of great pain emerges a new begining. TDL is making big waves not only here at work but back in Samoa. Join us on our journey and come be part of something bigger. #steelconstruction #steelindustry #steelerection #steelbuildings #utahbusiness

3moI'm not on big enough lifts for Fortis slings but I definitely am liking the Yale LOUPS slings. Your partnership with I&I Sling is really getting your products out there, at least from what I can see.
