The Canadian higher education system fosters an accessible and academically rigorous environment. It operates on a three-tiered structure, encompassing undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate studies. Undergraduate programs typically culminate in bachelor's degrees (lasting three to four years), while some institutions offer associate's degrees. This system boasts a diverse institutional landscape. Research-intensive universities provide a comprehensive range of disciplines at all degree levels. In contrast, colleges and polytechnics prioritize career-oriented education, granting diplomas and certificates in practical fields like technology, healthcare, and business. A defining characteristic of Canadian higher education is its focus on integrating academic knowledge with practical career preparation. Programs are meticulously designed with employability in mind, and many colleges and universities cultivate strong industry partnerships. #UNIABROAD

If you missed the Insight SBS program last night, it was a good one. This is a candid insight into our Australian University system. Universities are now businesses, and the cost of university degrees is eye-watering, especially for international students, who can pay $80,000 a year; that's $400,000 for a 5-year degree on tuition alone. Going to university is an option for some, but not all. It is a costly mistake if it's not the right option for you. Seeking independent, and I stress independent, career advice is crucial to making sound career decisions for students leaving school and adults considering further training and study. The cost is less than 1% of your potential university debt, so it pays to be confident in your decision. #careerdevelopment #careeradvice #careeradvisor https://lnkd.in/gB-qP7rV

Since the pandemic, the postgraduate level has driven enrolment growth in the UK. With 456,000 international students pursuing a postgraduate education, the study level was up 22% compared to the previous academic year. Meanwhile, undergraduate studies have remained relatively flat since 2019/20.

Some data on non-UK students in the UK. Postgraduate numbers continue to grow, undergraduate numbers are essentially flat. One of the reasons for this is of course that postgraduate degrees are shorter than undergradaute degrees. Relocating for one year (and shouldering the cost) is something else than relocating for three years. We also have to face a fact that many UK academics and university administrators don't want to face: the undergraduate education in many countries is as good as the UK one. There is no particular reason to go to the UK, unless you start talking about brands and language learning. Postgraduate education is much more niche, much more diversified, and thus something different.
