Those who know me can attest that I’m a passionate advocate for clinical trial sites, which are crucial in uncovering breakthroughs for patients. Despite their pivotal role in drug development, the needs of sites are often overlooked, making it more difficult for them to deliver impactful patient care. However, there are practical solutions that sponsors can adopt to enhance partnerships with sites and, in turn, improve the patient experience. Putting patients "in the driver's seat" of a clinical trial means focusing on the patient experience and working to understand the unique challenges individual patients can face. A dedication to comprehensively identifying these burdens, especially those existing due to social factors, is necessary to increase diversity and inclusion.
