For the past 2-3 months, I’ve been learning how to mathematically gain edges in sports betting. Here is a simple Arbitrage strategy automated using the OddsJam API https://lnkd.in/eCdF3jaS

Taking standard sport stats websites and transforming them into stat portals, pros, cons? I mentioned before my recent brain worm has been revamping the AUS stats website. I find it pretty click heavy with lots of navigation. Does it have to be that way? I moved what I could onto a single view, with interactions within the page rather than navigating away. In my opinion, the pros are 1. Everything in one place 2. A bit more video 3. History built into the page rather than needing archives The cons - is there a learning curve in using something like this? Next up: going to add hockey, and try to pull in the play by play data, but the latter is so inconsistent from one game to the next I'm trying to figure out what to do with it.

As a Data + Sports Nerd, I find this model very intriguing. Recalling the conversations from the Sports Management course I took with UnemployedGM, I also think about the transferability of such a model to other sports, for example, Cricket (which is finally having its own Data Revolution). The T20 format, which is a lot more dynamic and role-based than the more traditional formats of the game, can benefit from similar models for Team Building. Exciting times!
