2024 YEP KC Spotlights! Introducing Preston Lee Hello everyone! My name is Preston Lee and I am a rising senior at Lincoln College Prep. In college, I plan on pursuing a degree in economics and minoring in French and finance. My goal is to go into housing development. This summer, I am at Kansas City G.I.F.T. (Generating Income For Tomorrow) interning under their marketing team. Kansas City G.I.F.T is a non-profit for small black-owned businesses. Their goal is to close the historical wealth gap between African-Americans and other ethnicities throughout Kansas City. I am responsible for using Photoshop and different design platforms to create different carousels that are posted on various social media platforms. During my time at G.I.F.T., I'm working under Jackelyn Daniels and Cornell Gorman. We have been focusing on an upcoming gala on September 28th and trying to gain traction to sell tickets. I have experienced growth in many areas during my time at G.I.F.T. I am developing my graphic design skills in Canva and Adobe Premiere Pro. I'm also learning how to apply different marketing techniques. An example would be appealing to people's emotions on different social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. I am very thankful for the opportunity YEP and Kansas City G.I.F.T. have provided me with through the summer, and I will continue to grow and learn.

Hi LinkedIn friends, colleagues, and connections, In just over four hours Seattle Pacific University's (SPU) annual Giving Day fundraising event begins! Starting at midnight, April 3rd, 2024, SPU launches our largest annual fundraising campaign with the addition of a donor incentive competition structure. The Center for Career and Calling (CCC) needs your help to reach our goal of $2,000 to support our student-centered services and programming designed to help our students prepare for their transition to the working world. If you, or someone you know, are willing to donate I urge you to review these donor challenge guidelines below to help increase the impact of your donation. This year there are many ways to play, so here is the insider scoop on the Donor Challenges. There are three main challenges that help SPU departments and programs, participating in Giving Day, get bonus rewards when you donate. 1. First and last donation of the day challenge: --- The department or program that receives the first and/or last donation of the day will receive an additional $100. ---- The first donation after the event commences at 12am PST tonight, April 3rd, 2024, will receive an additional $100 bonus. ---- The last donation of the day has to be received before the event closes at 11:59 PM PST, April 3rd, 2024 to receive the additional $100 bonus. 2. Top 3 most donors challenge: ---The top three programs or departments that receive the highest number of donors [not necessarily the most money] will win an extra: ---- $1,500 for 1st place ---- $1,000 for 2nd place ---- $500 for 3rd place 3. 10+ donor challenge: --- When our department reached 10 donors, it will unlock an additional $100. Visit our Giving Day landing page to hear more about the impact of our department/services and what our goals are for the coming year. Thank you for any support you can offer!

GIVING DAY IS HERE!! Our office, Virginia Tech Career and Professional Development (CPD), is accepting donations as a part of #VTGivingDay from now until noon tomorrow (2/22). Every dollar you donate will go directly to CPD to help students in need! Did you know that the average wage for an intern is $20.76/hour, and the average wage for a student on co-op is $20.20/hour? (https://lnkd.in/emaJZg8f) Without the financial support of these wages, many students are unable to cover the costs of unpaid internships. Virginia Tech Career and Professional Development wants to help fill these gaps for students, and we need YOUR help. By contributing to our Giving Day fund, you can help support Hokies in unpaid internships and offset other hidden costs of participating in internships such as the cost of transportation, housing, relocation, required work attire and materials, and other living expenses. If you are interested in donating, please follow this link before tomorrow (2/22) at 12:00 PM; https://lnkd.in/eDWKYb6H. We are excited to see these funds put to use because of your generosity!

Nonprofit Solutions 4 organizations: strategic planning, leadership training, & annual giving fundraising best practices. Cost effective donor engagement & web-based fund development system 4 year-end direct mail.
Annual Giving: March Week One Fundraising and Story are intertwined. You can't have a good annual giving fundraising program without story. Here is the formula you should use to think about story. - The Community has a Problem - Your Organization has a Solution - The only way to Implement is with Donor Gifts Community Problem- Organization Solution- Donor Gifts to implement. To identify the Community Problem that your organization addresses- look to the vision statement. Chances are pretty good that the problem your organization is solving is the opposite of your vision. Your Organization Solution is the programs you run to address the problem. Now you need to combine this into a story. To begin this process, you need to grab a notebook and go sit in a high traffic area of your organization. Use the notebook to write down what you observe. These notes are going to form the foundation of your story. You will use the story two ways: 1) To Report: this is what you did in your impact piece. You reported back to donors about the impact their gifts made: you offered proof that your organization implemented a solution towards solving a community problem. 2) Discuss the Future: this is showing what could happen, in the future, with additional gifts to the organization. Maybe you can start a new program, expand a current offering, or maybe you just need to keep doing what you are doing. Think about your notes. Think about the impact your organization is making. The Future Impact Story is going to become the foundation of your annual giving case for support. It will power your appeal letters. Let me know what you learn about your organization. I would love to hear about the notes you took. We are digging deep. This is important work. Stick with it, getting a good story will make a huge difference in your annual giving program.

At Communities In Schools of Hampton Roads, we recognize the importance of collaboration with local businesses to ensure the success of our programs. Here are some examples of how these partnerships can benefit early childhood education: -Donations and Sponsorships: Local businesses can provide financial support for early childhood education initiatives, such as school supply drives or after-school programs. This can help to ensure that children have access to the resources they need to succeed in school. -Volunteer Opportunities: Businesses can offer their employees opportunities to volunteer with early childhood education programs. This can help to build a sense of community and give employees a chance to give back to their local community. -Internships and Job Shadowing: Local businesses can offer internships or job shadowing opportunities to high school students interested in pursuing careers in education. This can give students valuable experience and help to build a pipeline of future educators. -In-Kind Donations: Businesses can also provide in-kind donations, such as books, toys, or other resources that can be used in early childhood education programs. This can help to ensure that programs have the resources they need to provide high-quality education to young children. At Communities In Schools of Hampton Roads, we are committed to building strong partnerships with local businesses to support early childhood education. By working together, we can help to ensure that all children have access to the resources and support they need to succeed in school and in life.
