President and CEO at Novo Nordisk

What is your golden piece of advice for future and current leaders? Recently, I was asked this question when I had the pleasure of speaking with #graduates from a network representing more than 50 companies across Denmark - including some of our own global talents at Novo Nordisk. My answer is one that I used as a graduate 33 years ago and is still relevant to my role today:   ➡️ Be curious ➡️ Follow the challenges ➡️ Listen and learn If you are curious and tackle difficult tasks, the experience and knowledge you'll gain from that approach will be invaluable. Whether you are a CEO or a graduate, be curious and ask questions about the strategy, the task you're working on, or the department you're sitting in, and don't shy away from the challenges. In doing so, you will see the bigger picture and may find a new perspective or unlock a new approach. With more curious people, challenges can also become easier to solve. So, while I face many complex decisions in my role, I also make sure to take the time to listen to the brilliant, curious people around me to help find a solution. Has curiosity helped solve a challenge for you?
