McDonald's New CosMc's Drives Home the Beverage Boom: A Masters Student's Perspective This document provides a comprehensive overview of the potential for McDonald's CosMc's concept, a new takeout-oriented restaurant concept heavy on customizable drinks like Churro Frappés and Pomegranate Hibiscus Slush. As a Masters student in project management, I have analyzed the market trends, target audience, and potential challenges for CosMc's, and I have developed recommendations for how McDonald's can maximize its success. Key Findings The beverage market is growing rapidly, driven by Gen Z's demand for new and exciting drinks. CosMc's has the potential to capture a significant share of this market by offering customizable and colorful beverages in a convenient drive-thru format. The key challenges for CosMc's include competition from established players like Starbucks, execution challenges in a drive-thru setting, and the need to carefully integrate the CosMc's brand with McDonald's core identity. I believe that CosMc's has the potential to be a successful venture for McDonald's. By following the recommendations in this document, McDonald's can increase its brand awareness, attract new customers, and generate significant profits from the growing beverage market. #beverageindustry #internship #mastudent #passionate #driven #futureleader #coldbrew #functionalbeverages #flavordevelopment #marketresearch #consumerbehavior #newagebeverages #sustainablepackaging #datasavvy #branding #marketingstrategy #projectmanagement #coffeeshopculture #entrepreneurship #innovation #networking #dreamjob #opentowork #careergoals #boston #mcdonalds #cosmcs

Cluster Lead | Director of Educational Excellence at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University
Category manager at the monthly meeting: “After putting razors with 2, 3, 4, 5, and even 6 blades* on the market, what else can we do to innovate?” — After 2 minutes of intense radio silence, there’s a small voice from the back of the room. The intern: “Maybe it’s time to go back to basics: Just one blade? Bringing back the sustainable and recyclable solution where you have a metal razor and just switch out the blade when it’s blunt?” — Laughter. “And what do you want to make money with? Certainly not with a reusable metal razor with only one blade?” — Product manager: “Well, what if we make it electric and look fancy, and sell each blade for €27,99* and a membership for €6* per month?” — “Brilliant idea!” *no kidding, look it up

Very happy to have successfully completed my online course in Science of Gastronomy from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. This is my first step into the world of food technology and I look forward to continuing my learning in the field. I was introduced to food research and science during my last internship and a real interest was born! It seems more than necessary and interesting to understand the technical aspect behind each ingredient in order to grow and evolve as a chef. #foodgastronomy #foodscience #research #foodtechnology #hkust #plantbasedcooking

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB? 👀 For me, it's getting the chance to work with household brands and helping them deliver campaigns to their target market. Over the last few weeks, we have been working with Old El Paso to help bring their student sampling campaign to life 🚀 Not only were students encouraged to cook fresh food to share with their fellow amigos, but they were given recipes, product hacks and the chance to enter competitions too 🔥 The feedback from students and universities has been fantastic 🙌 I mean, what's not to love about about a free full size product? What Live Projects can offer you?✅ As an MBA student, gaining industry exposure is something we all seek to enhance our learning. Live projects come as a boon, allowing us to work on real-world business challenges, bridge the gap between theory and practice, and gain confidence in our professional skills. These projects offer a flexible schedule that allows students to work at their own pace, making it easier to balance studies and real-world experience. It's an ideal setup for students, as it not only provides practical exposure but also the opportunity to manage academic commitments alongside work. Plus, sometimes you're lucky enough to receive a stipend, adding to the overall benefits of such projects! I’m currently working on a live project with The UV Food , where I’ve had the opportunity to dive into digital marketing, graphic design, and channel marketing within the food and ready-to-cook products industry. This experience has not only expanded my knowledge of the market but also sharpened my ability to manage creative campaigns and develop strategic insights. The support from professionals in the industry has been invaluable, reinforcing the importance of mentorship and collaboration in driving growth. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to learn and contribute to a dynamic sector. A big thank you to UV Foods for their incredible support throughout this journey! I highly recommend everyone to try UV Foods’ ready-to-cook products—a perfect blend of convenience and deliciousness! They provide Food premixes, drink premixes, mouth fresheners, chikki, ready to eat products, and ready to cook products. Do check out their products, Great Initiative!! Welcome to Inside SCSD! Today we will meet our CHAIR of the IFT Sensory and Consumer Sciences Division - Alden Riak. Alden is a Sensory Scientist at Synergy Flavors Inc. He works in three pillars of sensory: Descriptive Analysis: Training the panelists, Discrimination: Conducting studies like tetrads, and Degree of Difference Testing Consumer Testing: Liking Studies, net penalty analysis, and preference testing Background: He received his Bachelor's in Food Science from Iowa State University and his Masters in Food Science from Penn State University. Why did he join the SCSD?: He was working as an intern for Land O’Lakes in 2018 and the sensory manager talked highly about the group and offered him the contact information of a member. He reached out and asked if there was anything he could help with that summer and they offered him the opportunity to help set up a website for a silent auction for the summer social event! He was able to help for the next summer as well until he finally joined as a student representative in 2019. He always highly encourages students to get involved at any level! His passion for the sensory and consumer sciences field: It’s all about the people, to have a job that has him interacting with people from all over is amazing (He is not too well suited for solitary lab work Haha!). He also gets to see a fun array of projects to work on which one can use the wide assortment of methods in our sensory toolkit to complete! His favorite basic taste (sweet, salty, sour, bitter, umami)? He said, ‘Don’t make me choose between my two loves of sweet and salty!!! 🍭🧂That’s cruel! The last time I was asked, I had a tough time choosing between sweet and salty, so this time I’ll use the basic taste that I just discovered SWALTY (a combination of sweet and salty)! Keep an eye out for prestigious scientific literature like My Twitter! This is definitely not because I still can’t choose a favorite.’ If he could only eat/drink one food/beverage for the rest of her life, it would be deep-dish pizza! It’s a full meal in a slice and it’s fun to talk about the different pizza rivalries within the Chicagoland area! (Lou Malnati’s for the win!) 🍕 #iftscsd #sensoryscience #foodscience #insidescsd

🌟 Back from an energetic trip to Internorga in Hamburg, the leading trade fair for the hospitality and catering industry! 🍽️ A vibrant place where innovation and culinary trends converge. This year, plant-based dairy products once again stood out! 🌱 What was mainly seen last year among big dairy brands is now increasingly being integrated into a variety of products - from vegan potato gratin to pastries and chocolate. Manufacturers are embracing this trend with open arms! ☕️ Sustainable offerings in foodservice also continue to grow, even among the big players. Something we get very excited about! One example is J.J. Darboven Holding AG & Co. KG, with their Café Intención as a true fair trade pioneer. 🧑🍳 Another interesting aspect is the increasing emphasis on ease of use in the kitchen. With a shortage of hands in the kitchen, 'thaw & serve' is slowly but surely becoming the new bake-off. Efficiency is paramount! We not only met numerous customers and prospects from the Netherlands, Belgium and across Europe, but also had inspiring conversations. 💼 Our biggest challenge? Finding the perfect match between client and message - fortunately, we are good at that! 😊 With our years of experience in Germany and a renewed focus on the German market, we are ready to push our boundaries. 🌍 What are your thoughts on these emerging trends? Let us know in the comments below! 💬 #Internorga2024 #HorecaTrends #Sustainability #Innovation #InspiredByInternorga

🔴QUESTION🔴 Remember the cool, effortlessly sleek employees at Abercrombie & Fitch in the late 2000s? Or how about those restaurants with great food, but everyone working there is just as charismatic as they are attractive? This strategy isn't new, and with the rise of robotics and AI, businesses should now ☑️Curate unique customer experiences & ☑️Implement stronger employer branding strategies 🔍For Example🔍 ☕️Blank Street Coffee uses advanced espresso machines to deliver consistent, high-quality coffee quickly. In a cozy corner of a bustling café, Juana, a bright young lady with a passion for technology, gathers with her friends to discuss their future aspirations. As they share their dreams of making an impact in the business world, the conversation naturally turns to the importance of education, particularly choosing the best IT school. “Guys, if we want to make a difference in global business, we need to start by picking the right IT school,” Juana says, her enthusiasm evident. “Not all schools are created equal, and the right choice can set the foundation for our future success.” She leans in, her eyes sparkling with excitement. “First, we should look for a school with a strong curriculum that covers both the technical skills and the business acumen we’ll need. It's essential to learn about coding, data analysis, and cybersecurity, but we also need to understand how to apply that knowledge in a business context. That combination is what employers are looking for in today’s job market.” Emma continues, highlighting the importance of hands-on experience. “We should choose a school that offers internships or real-world projects. That practical exposure is invaluable. It’s one thing to learn theory in a classroom, but working on live projects gives us insights into how technology drives business decisions.” Her friends nod in agreement as she emphasizes the significance of networking. “Another thing to consider is the school’s connections with the industry. A solid network can help us land internships and job placements after graduation. Schools that have partnerships with tech companies can open doors for us that we wouldn’t have access to otherwise.” As the conversation flows, Juana also mentions the value of community and support. “It’s important to find a school where we can thrive. A collaborative environment with supportive faculty and motivated peers can make a huge difference in our learning experience. We should look for a place that encourages innovation and creativity.” In the midst of her discussion, Juana reminds her friends, “Choosing the right IT school is more than just about getting a degree; it’s about preparing ourselves to lead in the global business landscape. With the right education, we can harness technology to create solutions that make a real impact.” As they finish their coffees, her friends leave the café feeling inspired and motivated, ready to research and choose the best IT school that aligns with their ambitions and dreams of shaping the future. https://lnkd.in/gBHsQt59

I am excited to share that I have completed my task-1 of wine quality predictions under the guidance of Mr. Sandip Gavit and TechnoHacks EduTech Official Task -1 : Wine quality predictions. Dataset Used : 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gKArcW9s About Dataset The two datasets are related to red and white variants of the Portuguese "Vinho Verde" wine. For more details, consult the reference [Cortez et al., 2009]. Due to privacy and logistic issues, only physicochemical (inputs) and sensory (the output) variables are available (e.g. there is no data about grape types, wine brand, wine selling price, etc.). These datasets can be viewed as classification or regression tasks. The classes are ordered and not balanced (e.g. there are much more normal wines than excellent or poor ones). #WineQualityPredictions. #TechnoHacksEduTech #sandipgavit #internship #MachineLearning
