🌐 What are the benefits of attending an internship for those who want to work in the PR industry? 🔜 My graduate studies are coming to an end. Recently, I have seen many junior students sharing their internship life, which is very fabulous and rich. Some also said that they were very confused during work. When I first started an internship, I also had this confusion: How to make work plans? How to set career development goals? I want to share my experience through the post, to help you. I have had 5 internship experiences, which not only helped me get a full-time offer but also gained my perspective and skills. As someone who has both been an intern and coached new interns, I would like to share 4 points of trainee thinking. I hope you can jump out of the trivial internship work itself and think about the greater meaning of internships. 1⃣️Open Horizons: How a company works A company often requires the cooperation of multiple departments to maintain normal operations. Different positions have different responsibilities and outputs, which of course also correspond to different threshold requirements and income levels. In a PR agency, it generally includes operations, client executive, media executive, planning, marketing, etc. Entering an advertising company for an internship can help us directly understand the composition of the public relations industry and build job awareness. It is also the first stop to enlighten us on the concept of "agency". 2⃣️Setting a Benchmark: How professionals PRer work You can set a benchmark for your future work. Learning their strengths, and observing their way of thinking and working habits, this kind of close observation and imitation is not something we can get in university courses or pieces of literature. For example, when I was interning at a local advertising company in Sydney, I saw that my group member would synchronize their work progress with everyone in the team channel at the end of every day so that everyone could complete the work more efficiently the next day. 3⃣️Learn skills: how to write media releases, how to review influencers  Internships help individuals develop and enhance a range of skills essential for a career in PR. These skills may include communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal skills, time management, problem-solving, and adaptability. Exposure to real-world challenges allows me to refine these skills in a practical setting. 4⃣️Confidence Building In fact, an internship is an opportunity to provide an error zone. Because interns will not have a chance to connect with core clients. Even if there is a mistake in your task, there will be room for mitigation. I also made some micro mistakes during my four internships, but every time I made a mistake, I could learn from it, review it, and gain confidence in my abilities. The next time you tackle a task, you'll be more confident. This confidence-building has been of great help to my career path. #PRintern #studyaustralia
