Daypacks comprise approximately 10% of all bags sold with the average lifespan of a daypack is 3-4 years at which point the item is often simply disposed.  The Caribou Mountaineering Rucksack Zero addressed this in two ways: 1.  Sustainability through Durability: We developed a highly durable rPET fabric that showed no significant wear after 200,000 double rubs per Wyzenbeek method. This greatly exceeds the abrasion-resistance of standard polyester 600 denier. 2. Mono-Material for Recycling. Foam comprises about 15% (by weight) of a standard daypack, but a mechanical recycling process for the product could only be achieved with a mono-material construction. Dirt and dust can be removed with water and a soft brush. Please note: When using a car wash with a fleece cloth, bits of fluff often stubbornly stick to the soft top after washing. They can be easily removed with a clothes brush. Bird droppings and other biological residues should be removed immediately with a gentle soapy water solution and a soft brush, as they can otherwise attack the surface of the soft top.
