Transport for NSW has announced changes to make it easier for councils and communities to improve their local street environments and host neighbourhood events 🎉 KEY UPDATES: ✨An updated Temporary Delegation to councils has been issued that gives councils an alternative, streamlined approval pathway for works supportive of walking, cycling, and improvements to place amenity and road safety. ✨Pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, tree planting, placemaking improvements, and regulation of parking – among other things – can be implemented by councils without engaging a Local Traffic Committee or requiring referral to Transport (subject to some conditions). ✨ The Roads Regulation 2018 has been amended to simplify the process by which councils can grant road event permits for neighbourhood activities. 🗺️ As someone who lives and works in Rugby, I completely understand the concerns some people have about feeling like we’re packed in. At times, especially during the rush hours, it can feel a bit tight, but when we look at the data, the picture is quite different. The map above shows population density across Rugby, and what’s clear is that, compared to many other towns and cities, we’re far from crammed in. The light green areas show where population density is low, light blue has medium population density and the dark blues high population density, where more people live per square kilometre. As you can see in the map, Rugby has nothing extreme and mostly green with pockets of light blue. There are areas in the UK with the dark blue areas and they tend be in central London and few other larger cities in the UK. This means Rugby offers a balance — we have the benefits of a decent-sized town without the feeling of being overcrowded. We’re quite lucky to have plenty of open spaces, a good mix of housing, and areas that give families, couples, and individuals room to breathe. So, while it might feel a bit hectic at times, the reality is that Rugby remains a comfortable and spacious place to live. As a local estate agent, I can assure you that the property market here reflects this. We’re not bursting at the seams — instead, we have a town that offers both community and personal space. #rugbytown #ThePropertyExperts #househunting #Rugby #Warwickshire #housingmarket #houseprices

𝗔 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 It is with a heavy heart that we address a recent tragedy in our community. A vibrant life, full of potential, was tragically cut short. A young girl, just 9 years old, lost her life in what appears to be a preventable accident in Bengaluru. Words cannot express the sorrow such an event brings, especially when it involves a child. As parents and a members of this city, our deepest condolences go out to the family enduring this irreplaceable loss. The incident took place in Prestige Lakeside Habitat, a detail that brings the tragedy closer to home for many of us. The preliminary investigations suggest a possible case of electrocution near the society's swimming pool (source: Economic Times). This raises numerous questions about safety standards and protocols in our residential areas. In light of this, we urge everyone, especially those in gated communities and residential societies, to consider the critical importance of regular safety audits. A Residential Welfare Association (RWA) Handover-Takeover (HOTO) audit is not just a procedural formality; it is a necessary step to ensure the safety and well-being of every resident, especially our children. As residents, we often overlook these safety measures, considering them an additional expense or bureaucratic hurdle. However, this incident is a stark reminder of the consequences of neglecting such essential safety protocols. It's a wake-up call to prioritize our safety and the safety of our loved ones over short-term savings. Let us honor the memory of this young soul by taking actionable steps towards ensuring our living spaces are safe. I implore all residents and society members to initiate a dialogue with your RWA about conducting a thorough HOTO audit. It's not just about compliance; it's about prevention, awareness, and ultimately, the safety of our families. Our proactive steps today can prevent such tragedies in the future. https://lnkd.in/gEsaXx5j https://lnkd.in/gs3ZXP8D https://lnkd.in/gfBWE9Gz https://lnkd.in/g3GbUc4k

We've published the latest Sport Wales Wales Activity Tracker. You can read all the findings here https://lnkd.in/eWk2Zf7n A few stats that stood out for me. 42% of respondents said they were motivated to take part in sport or physical activity to manage their weight, a newly tested motivation within Wave 12. The cost-of-living continues to negatively impact with 30% saying they have been doing less sport and physical activity as a result. That said, this figure has reduced. I have wondered if that is a reflection of people now factoring in the cost-of-living crisis to their lives. 26% of those who have stopped or paused their volunteering in the past 12 months were previously in a coaching role. This does speak to some of the concerns in the sector around coach volunteering. That focus on coaching is a new aspect we explored in this wave and reflects a different approach to trying to capture emerging themes highlighted by partners in the questions. As always, there is loads more in the survey results so please do explore them, and we will explore more over the coming days/weeks.
