PEOPLE MATTER, isn't that the truth? Hiking the Squamish Chief has been on my bucket list for more than 8 months; I was lucky to finally make it my way to Squamish many times last year, almost once a month, and on my once in a while, explored these different spots where I would get a clear view of the chief watching people canoe while staring at this big giant rock called the chief. A little wind, not knowing the stories about it, always felt calming, just like a break from urban and rushed life in Vancouver. Sitting on the dock with my feet dipped into the Mamquam Blind Channel, I used to always think how the view from the top would be and how spectacular it should be. Last week, I got the greatest opportunity when a bunch of people planned to go hiking up the mountains. I didn't even think for a second but rather said yes, though, in my mind, some things in my schedule were supposed to be moved around. I felt like a little kid who was just happy that I would be able to tick it off from my bucket list, and more than breathtaking, to have these people make it an all-round better experience. Four hours of stepping, climbing, and, most importantly, connecting. The peak brought breathtaking views, unforgettable moments like witnessing an engagement, and the start of friendships that promise to last a lifetime. Thanks to Caroline Chan, Li Ze Choo, Natasha Lau, Xavier Lavalle Lopez, Somtirtha Roy, Robin Do, Rupin Minhas, and others for sharing this memorable experience with me. To you international students, solo travelers, or anyone feeling that sting of loneliness in a new place: Your tribe is out there. Start with a hello, share a hike, a coffee, or anything. Each step is a new connection, a new chance. Who knows? Your next 'hello' could lead to you finding your tribe 🌍❤️🏞️ Interested in how to transform living abroad into an unforgettable adventure? Check out these 10 essential tips that kept me curious and made all the difference. 🌼🍀🇮🇪 Spring Break Memories 🌈☘️🎉 🍀 We've covered some serious ground this spring break– I'm talking the entire perimeter of Ireland! 🚗 💨 It was a VERY full trip. One stop that didn't quite work out: the iconic Cliffs of Moher, a must-see for the kiddos before our voyage to the enchanting Aran Islands (seriously, one of my all-time favorite spots!). 🏞️ Now, let's keep it real – not every travel plan unfolds as smoothly as we'd hope. ⛅ We had grand visions of leisurely exploring the Cliffs of Moher trails, soaking in every breathtaking view. But alas, timing had other ideas. With a ferry to the Aran Islands to catch and time slipping away faster than we expected, we had to hustle. Picture this: a mad dash to the top viewing area, 15 minutes of pure awe, and a speedy descent back to reality. 🏃♀️ 💨 Yep, I definitely felt like the most "touristy" tourist out there! To add a sprinkle of Irish charm, the weather decided to throw a curveball – cold, rainy, and downright blustery. 🌧️ But hey, that's Ireland for you! We emerged from our Cliffs excursion looking like a band of soggy adventurers. 😅 Reflecting on it all, I can't help but feel a twinge of regret that we couldn't give the Cliffs the attention they truly deserved. 🤷♂️ But hey, isn't that just the beauty of travel? Sometimes, the best-laid plans go awry, but it's all part of the adventure! :sparkles: Now, I'm dying to hear from you – ever had a travel (or life) experience veer off course? Share your tales of unexpected twists and turns! 🌍 ✈️ #momtrepreneur #Springbreak #FamilyAdventures #privateschool #schoolmarketing #easyschoolmarketing #independentschool

‘Stop being absolute d*ckheads and put your back into paddling properly!’ Probably not what a group of teenagers typically hear on a school trip. And it’s certainly not what teachers are ordinarily allowed to say to their pupils. But I recently had the privilege of taking a school group of 13 to 18 year olds on a multi-day rafting trip in Morocco where they got to experience rafting, wild camping, outdoor cooking, river crossings, hiking, knot tying and insights into Moroccan culture. But more importantly, they were given responsibility and were held accountable. They weren’t molly coddled. Neither were they made to feel bad. They simply got straight-talking, friendly kiwi banter but they learned that they had to work as a team. Anyone not pulling their weight let the rest of the team down. Anyone not listening to instructions could cause themselves or someone else harm. They learned that through hard work and team work and trying things they’d not done before and getting off their phones and personal connection and real conversation, that they were hugely capable. They built self-esteem and resilience. Mostly they had a huge amount of authentic fun. While most of my trips are for older guests, I absolutely love working with kids and teenagers because they are so in need of real life, back to basic experiences. They need risk. They need to build their belief in themselves. Kids who build these skills go on to become tomorrow’s leaders and employees that problem solve. If you are a #SchoolHead or #OutdoorEducation teacher and want to learn how Water by Nature trips can build independence and resilience in your pupils, get in touch. #FutureWorkforce #GenAlpha #GenZ #Teenagers #Adventure
