This section of KiwiRail North Auckland Line embankment being rebuilt was erroded from below by water escaping upwards from a damaged culvert. The water built up by a number of meters on the far side of the #rail embankment, as it acted like a dam. The culvert did it’s job in allowing the water to pass, but the damage caused by the leak has meant that the embankment needs to be rebuilt and the culvert replaced. The black fence you see around the site is to prevent run off of any sediment into the adjacent waterway whilst the works are undertaken. #NAL #CivilEngineering #Construction

📌🏠 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐭 This week we have issued our 100th Clean Cover Plotworks Certificate with AMETHYST HOMES LIMITED at residential development, Regents Park. Located at the former Consett Steelworks site. This is the last remediation stage prior to handover which confirms that properties are safe for residents to move in. Materials below the clean cover were validated by our Geo-Environmental team at the completion of the earthworks phase. Clean Cover Validation then confirms that appropriate materials have been placed in gardens of properties on a plot-by-plot basis in accordance with the approved Remediation Strategy which sets out minimum thicknesses of cover required, and maximum concentrations for potential contaminants of concern.   This certificate releases another three residential plots for handover and represents another milestone in the town’s regeneration. #residentialdevelopment #consett #consettsteelworks #regentspark #newhomes #geoenvironmental #groundinvestigations #cleancovervalidation #landremediation
