Many different system components, transitions, waterproofing challenges, and safety & logistics coordination as to not disrupt residents during the project. Phase 1 - Caulking and coating of all exposed CMU exterior walls in the building. - Replacement of the asphalt shingle roof systems at the mansard roofs. - Demolition and disposal of the existing wood decks and fences on both sides of the Third Floor Roof. Members of our team recently paid a visit to the project site for Garlington Warehouse, off Woodruff Road, to observe and participate in an exciting two-step building style called "tiltwalls" or "tilt-up construction." Here's how it works! First, slabs of concrete, which most often comprise load-bearing sections of a building envelope or elevation, are cast horizontally on a concrete slab-on-ground. The slabs are then lifted (tilted) with a crane after the concrete has reached sufficient strength. TREVIICOS’ scope of work for the 4B Phase of the MGH Cambridge Street project at Massachusetts General Hospital’s main campus in Boston included the construction of 92,130 sf of 36” thick perimeter reinforced concrete #slurryWall and interior LBE’s which serve as temporary support of excavation, permanent #foundation walls and interior foundation elements for the proposed below-grade building foundation and garage. The slurry wall was constructed adjacent to the active Parkman Street garage, just to the West of the site. Subsurface conditions consisted of Fill, Organic Deposits, Glaciofluvial, Marine Clay, Glacial Till and Bedrock (Cambridge Argillite). The groundwater level was found about 8 to 10 ft below ground surface.
