THIS is the future that we want. In 2023, Spotify released DJ. For those that know us, we care DEEPLY about music. We fight about algorithms and UI. We fight about playlists and the best songs to create a playlist. DJ is fantastic. We just switched back from Youtube music and discovered this amazing AI driven feature. It mixes all our music, new and old, days we played it, moods we feel or felt and more to create a seamless, curated playlist that (ideally) involves minimum tuning throughout the day. Whether we want to concentrate, pre-funk, party, chill, cook or something else, DJ will tune it for you. The most interesting part to us? The educational intro to DJ and how Spotify explains how it works, through DJ talking to you. 🤓 Listening to your own "DJ" talk to you about your music interests and history is a trip! My 2024 goal is to bring more of that energy into my work—where ideas flow seamlessly, much like the perfect playlist. Here's the tea ☕️ 1️⃣ Smart Onboarding: Quick questions about your fav artists and genres 2️⃣ Demographic Insights: Using basic info to make educated guesses 3️⃣ Trending Tunes: Starting with popular tracks to gauge your reaction 4️⃣ Contextual Awareness: Time of day? Check. Day of week? You bet. 5️⃣ Rapid Learning: Every skip and like shapes your profile What impresses me most is how the algorithm is tuning the list based on multiple factors like (listening time, no of plays of a song etc) What was your experience when you first joined Spotify? 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗪𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱? 𝗟𝗲𝘁'𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁! Every December, people eagerly anticipate Spotify Wrapped. It has become a favorite end-of-year tradition — a chance to relive the songs that provided comfort during long nights, rediscover the artists that dominated their playlists, and marvel at the sheer minutes spent immersed in music. But this year, I wanted to take it a step further. So, I embarked on a data-driven journey to create my own version of Spotify Wrapped. Using a dataset from Maven Analytics and the powerful capabilities of Power BI, I crafted a personalized, analytical recap of my music habits for the year. Highlights of the project include: • Visualizing my top songs, artists, and albums. • Tracking listening trends by time of day and day of the week. • Summarizing total minutes, streams, and skipped tracks.
