New research from the American Cancer Society shows that #colorectalcancer is becoming more prevalent than it has been in the past, making timely #cancerscreenings for this disease more important than ever. Today, colon cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths among younger men and second the second leading cause among younger women. The good news is there are also more screening options for colon cancer than ever before. If you're 45 or older, or have risk factors like a family history of colon cancer, talk to your doctor about getting screened and find out what option might be right for you. #cancerawareness #screeningsaves #coloncancer #coloncancerscreeening

1 in 5 people will get cancer, what can you do about it? Today, September 24th, is #WorldCancerResearchDay. While we have made significant progress in fighting cancer, 1 in 5 people will receive this horrible diagnosis and 1 in 10 of us will die from it according to the WHO. With those odds, we or a loved one are likely to be impacted by cancer. Consider learning more about this disease, what you can do about it, and how you can help to advance research to fight it. And a special bonus in the Philadelphia area, consider a double win: the Philadelphia Marathon (and half marathon and 8k 😉) on Nov 22-24 is in partnership with the American Association for Cancer Research

The American Cancer Society has just released groundbreaking insights in their inaugural Cancer Facts and Figures for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Other Pacific Islander People (2024-2026), shedding light on a crucial aspect of healthcare equity: the need for disaggregated data. The report shows that cancer is the leading cause of death among several AANHPI groups, notably Chinese, Filipino, Korean, and Vietnamese individuals, with lung cancer topping the mortality charts for men across all ethnicities within this demographic. Championing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) isn't just about rhetoric; it's about actionable steps towards a more equitable future. Let's leverage disaggregated data as a powerful tool in our mission to drive health equity forward. Kudos to ACS for taking this vital step, and let's continue to collaborate and innovate towards a healthier, more inclusive world! 🌏💪 #HealthEquity #DEI #DataDrivenInsights #CancerPrevention #InclusionMatters #AANHPI

On this World Cancer Day, we acknowledge the strength of collaboration. We are aware that each and every one of us can, no matter how tiny, make a difference, and that when we work together, we can actually lessen the impact of cancer on the world. Even though there have been incredible improvements in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, many of us still lack access to basic cancer care. We encourage everyone, no matter who you are or where you live, to contribute to the global effort to eradicate cancer on February 4th. What are you going to do on this World Cancer Day to close the gap in cancer care? #closethecaregap #worldcancerday #worldcancerawarenessday #cancerawareness #cancercare #novel #healthtech #novelhealthtech
