When consumers are price sensitive and showing diminishing brand loyalty promotions are king 👑 The bad news all around is that promotional pressure is also very high and the efficiency is on a downward trend. In fact, Promotion Efficiency has declined 21% since H2 2022 across all discount levels in Europe 📉 A common question I get from clients is “what does efficiency mean precisely in this context?” 🤔 Well, it is the Incremental sales / Promotional sales * 100. Then another question is “what does incremental sales mean precisely?” Incremental sales = Total sales volume - Baseline sales volume. Then what is Baseline sales volume?
