TRIVER raises £2.5 million to transform SMEs working capital access in the UK #Triver, a pioneering #fintech company, has secured an additional £2.5 million from existing investors to further expand its innovative working capital solutions for UK SMEs. This funding follows an impressive initial £7 million equity raise in April 2023 and a £20 million debt facility with Avellinia Capital – AvCap Capital. Triver, leveraging Open Banking data and sophisticated AI, offers SMEs instant access to short-term working capital by underwriting the risk of small business borrowing quickly and automatically. Their platform provides advances on client invoices 24/7, addressing the critical cash flow challenges faced by SMEs. Founded by Jerome Le Luel, Triver’s team has grown from six to sixteen, including talented professionals from seven nationalities. Jerome’s vision is to leverage cutting-edge technology to ensure SMEs have seamless access to cash flow finance exactly when they need it. The latest funding round includes contributions from prominent investors like Stride.VC, Andreessen Horowitz, Axeleo Capital (AXC), Motive Partners, and Sequoia Capital, demonstrating strong confidence in Triver's disruptive approach. This new funding will help Triver continue to scale and refine its technology, enhancing service levels and expanding into new industry verticals. Their recent partnership with Elcom, a procurement platform processing £15 billion in supplier invoices annually for the public sector, will allow SME suppliers to get paid immediately, facilitating greater business opportunities with government entities. Capital is a Key Ingredient that SMEs need to scale and give multi-bagger returns to their shareholder. Let's explore how SMEs raise funds. After listing SMEs have limited means to raise funds. And there is a tradeoff between equity dilution versus with risk of high debt piling up. Let me describe two instruments 1. NCD and 2. Right issue 1- Raising capital through Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) is a common method for companies, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to secure long-term financing. NCDs are debt instruments issued by companies to raise funds from investors. Unlike convertible debentures, NCDs cannot be converted into equity shares of the issuing company. 2- Raising capital through a Rights Issue is a common method for companies to raise funds from existing shareholders. A Rights Issue allows a company to offer its existing shareholders the opportunity to purchase additional shares at a discounted price, usually in proportion to their existing shareholding.
