How can we create workplaces where people feel comfortable, valued and appreciated for what they bring to the table – not in spite of their differences, but including their differences? Talking is the first step to busting myths and breaking down stigmas; made even more powerful when done in collaboration with clients and local NGOs. Today, I moderated a fantastic discussion, along with my colleague Sanjeev Chatrath, on ‘Accessibility and Inclusion in Financial Services’. We were joined by our wonderful speakers, Kylie McGavin, APAC Head of Inclusion, HSBC, Jeff Rotmeyer, Founder ImpactHK and Love21, Kaleem Rizvi, Managing Director, Head-Corporate Banking, Asia North & Australia, Citi and Tomoko Nyunoya, Co-Chair Enable Network, Morgan Stanley, Japan. My key takeaway was how our employee resource groups, through their events, campaigns and actions, are potent catalysts for change and the need to maximize their impact. By harnessing the ‘power of all’ we can create more awareness and understanding of people with disabilities and build organizations and society where everyone can flourish without obstacles. Many thanks to our speakers and everyone who joined us. It was an inspiring discussion to end the year. An excellent discussion! What stood out for me was the power of community outreach and social impact when it comes to disability inclusion and confidence. Excited to continue to collaborate on access and inclusion in financial services!
