There’s no doubt—2025 has had a tough start for many. Today is Bell Let’s Talk Day 2025, and this year, the conversation prioritizes youth mental health. At Virtual Gurus, our mission is rooted in support. We proudly employ single parents, persons with disabilities, individuals in rural areas, persons of colour, and 2SLGBTQI+ folxs—creating access to meaningful work that fits into their lives, which has a positive correlation to mental health. Did you know: 💡 2SLGBTQI+ communities, newcomers, Black, and Indigenous youth experience higher rates of poor mental health and face significant barriers to accessing care. 💡 Approximately 66% to 75% of mental health issues start before the age of 24, making youth a vulnerable population. And here’s something we also believe: when we take care of ourselves, we can better show up for others. Our CEO, Bobbie Racette, has shared her journey with burnout, reminding us that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. “It’s okay to lean on others so you can be there for the people who rely on you.” Are you so focused that you forget to eat, take breaks, or power down? One day you wake up beyond exhausted, with your passion and drive seemingly lost. At Virtual Gurus, we embrace a culture where mental well-being is supported—not stigmatized—because healthy adults have the capacity to care for themselves and be there for the youth who need them most. Our impact: ✨ 700+ hours of productivity delivered through meaningful work ✨ 80% of our team comes from underrepresented groups ✨ 80% of leadership roles are held by women So ask yourself: What do you need to take care of yourself so you can show up for others? #BellLetsTalk #YouthMentalHealth #BurnoutRecovery #VirtualGurus #CommunitySupport

🌍Breaking the Silence on Mental Health in Marginalized Communities 💭 Mental health is a critical conversation, but for employees from marginalized groups, it often comes with additional layers of complexity. Discrimination, microaggressions, cultural stigma, and lack of access to mental health resources can create significant barriers to well-being. But there’s hope! 🌟 Organizations can change the narrative by: ✅ Fostering inclusive policies that promote equity. ✅ Providing accessible mental health resources for all. ✅ Encouraging open conversations about mental health. ✅ Cultivating allyship to create a sense of belonging. World Mental Health Day 2024: Mental Health at Work This year, WHO is highlighting the vital connection between mental health and work, urging all stakeholders—governments, employers, and workers' representatives—to take urgent action. Healthy workplaces can protect mental well-being, but unhealthy environments—where stigma, discrimination, and poor conditions persist—pose significant risks, reducing participation, productivity, and overall quality of life. For neurodiverse individuals—those with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other conditions—the workplace can present unique challenges. Many feel pressured to mask their struggles, conform to rigid expectations, and suppress their authentic selves. This not only impacts their mental health, leading to burnout and anxiety, but also diminishes their contributions to the organization. At NeuroinclusionLab, we believe in creating work environments where everyone's mental health is prioritized. For neurodiverse employees, that means eliminating the need to mask and fostering spaces where their strengths are celebrated. By investing in inclusive, evidence-based interventions, we can build workplaces that support both mental health and neurodiversity. #MentalHealthMatters #Neurodiversity #MentalHealthAtWork #Inclusion #DEI #NeuroinclusionLab #WorkplaceWellbeing #NeurodivergentVoices #BurnoutPrevention

Mental health is the foundation of a thriving society, influencing every aspect of our lives, from personal well-being to professional productivity. When mental health is compromised, the ripple effects are felt across families, communities, and workplaces. Stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges are common and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or socio-economic status. Access to education, economic stability, and supportive environments play crucial roles in maintaining good mental health. Unfortunately, socio-economic disparities, work-related stress, and lack of access to mental health services make many vulnerable to mental health issues. The global COVID-19 pandemic further highlighted these challenges, as individuals across various sectors struggled with additional responsibilities, remote work, and the stress of an uncertain future. Prioritizing mental well-being benefits everyone. Healthy minds lead to stronger communities, more resilient workplaces, and better societal progress. It’s essential for governments, organizations, and communities to work together to create policies that support mental health services, reduce stigma, and provide equitable access to care for all. By fostering environments that value and support mental health, we can build stronger, healthier, and more productive societies. #ArexLabs #MentalHealth #Workplace #Challenges #priority

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! 💕 At SSL, mental health is deeply rooted in our "why." According to the research, 80 percent of women in the United States, no matter what race, socioeconomic status, level of education, or success admit to struggling with self-worth and self-confidence. This makes them more susceptible to disparities in the workplace, burnout, social phobia, sexual harassment, domestic violence, stress-related disorders, depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. Empowering women is crucial for the well-being of families and the prosperity of communities. They are the catalysts for sustainable economic growth and a fair and equitable society. When women know their value, they are empowered to maximize their capabilities, enrich the workforce, experience mental wellness, and raise happier, healthier children. Subsequently, children raised by empowered women are more likely to thrive as adults and positively contribute to society. #SSLWomen #SassyLife #MentalHealth #WellBeing #Empowerment Powered by: Chase Roofing & Contracting Inc. Creating Inclusive Spaces and Promoting Mental Health: What is an inclusive space? Inclusive spaces are environments where all individuals feel welcomed, respected, and valued regardless of their backgrounds or identities. These spaces promote diversity, equity, and accessibility, fostering a sense of belonging and acceptance for young people. How can we make our environments more inclusive? Raise Awareness: provide time for discussions and opportunities to educate yourself and others on diversity and inclusion topics to ultimately increase awareness and understanding of different perspectives and experiences. Celebrate Diversity: actively recognise and celebrate cultural, religious, and identity-based events and holidays. Create Safe Spaces: ensure that physical and virtual spaces are safe and accessible for all young people. This is done by also addressing any occurrences of discrimination or exclusion. How does Inclusivity promote positive mental health and wellbeing for young people? Inclusive environments and spaces help young people foster a sense of belonging, as they feel accepted, valued, and respected for who they are. This sense of belonging contributes to positive self-esteem and reduces feelings of loneliness or exclusion, therefore enhancing positive mental health and wellbeing. #mentalhealthandyoungpeople #propsychau

💡 Suicide remains the leading cause of death for men under 45 in the UK. As we celebrate Men’s Mental Health Month, this statistic highlights an urgent need to address men’s mental health. The traditional "script" for masculinity, where roles and expectations were clearly defined, has shifted dramatically, leaving many men without a clear place in a rapidly evolving society. 🤝 As these roles change, so must our approach to men’s mental health and wellbeing. We need to create inclusive spaces for men within Diversity & Inclusion discussions, where they can openly address the unique challenges they face. ➡️ This month, let's commit to fostering these conversations and supporting every individual's journey to mental health, because everyone’s voice matters in building a healthier, more inclusive work culture. #MensMentalHealth #Awareness #Diversity #Inclusion #Support #Bediverse #Trainings #Consulting Source: Mental Health Foundation

Societal Pressure. Societal pressure refers to the expectations and norms that society places on individuals, often dictating how they should behave, look, or succeed. This pressure affects everyone—young people feel the need to meet academic, career, or lifestyle milestones early, while older generations might feel pressure to maintain relevance or success. Social media has exacerbated this by becoming a tool for comparison. People often share only the highlights of their lives, creating an illusion of perfection. This can lead to feelings of inadequacy for viewers who compare themselves to these curated realities. The constant exposure to others' achievements, looks, or lifestyles heightens societal expectations, making it seem like everyone else is thriving except you. In this way, social media becomes a magnifier for societal pressures, influencing self-esteem, decision-making, and mental health. #49DaysVALinkedInBootcampWithtma, #day34ofvalinkedinbootcamp #LinkedInForCreators #SocialMediaPressure #MentalHealthMatters
