A prospective client shared with us yesterday that she hates cold calling. She's really good at selling her company to prospective candidates if she has a warm introduction, but isn't good at calling random people out of the blue. This company works on some sweet projects, has a great brand name in their market, offers very competitive salaries and benefits, but is having difficulty with the initial stages when trying to attract high performing talent for a Lead Preconstruction position. They could post a job and wait for the right person to apply, but they just don't have time for that. This position is pretty pressing and they want the right person sooner rather than later. What worked for you yesterday, usually won’t work for you for today. As soon as you become complacent in your recruitment and sales process is when you’ll start to see things not working for you. What sales approach worked for a prospect in Michigan may not work for a prospect in Arizona. Open your eyes 👀 y’all! Recruitment and new business recruitment partnerships are not for everyone. Again, they are not for everyone. Before you become a recruiter and/or a recruitment sales leader, you have to have a deep rooted passion for your own success and have a strong and eager willingness to keep going when the times get tough. Recruitment and Sales go hand-in-hand and it is a people industry. We talk to hundreds of people weekly. If you cannot self motivate yourself and if you don't care about people’s personal career goals, wants, and desires and more so, understand that you’ll be told NO 75% of the time, then I challenge you to rethink WHY you want to be a recruiter and/or sales leader in recruitment.
