“We live in a mad world, but we do see some amazing, bold people from everywhere working every single day for a brighter future” That was the overarching theme at this year’s @impactweek by the ‘’investing for impact network’’ of @impacteurope and what a WEEK it was. A full house gathering with at least a thousand attendees sharing their projects and ambitions with each other and setting the scene for the impact investment world for future . All together we learned about innovative ideas, discovered new trends, and exchanged ideas. Madness, Boldness and Brightness were the main themes of the conference and a lot of different panels and workshops are offered during those 3 days of full impact. I tried to capture insights from this vibrant and passionate community and here are my key take aways which I belive are most important for the impact audience. EU continued leading the way as a catalytic funder Foundations continue being a key catalytic player in the sector representing %11, potential to mobilize further 50-60 bn more Pension funds and institutional investors are on the horizon 120% growth in blended finance deals There is a spectrum of possibilities for investment starting from catayltic grant making to the other end -tradional investing- investor addionality is what differentiates impact investment from other options. Here's to continuing the momentum toward impactful solutions! 🚀 #impactinvestment #impactleadership Great insights from other speakers 🙌 but so many so I couldn't write each down here, special thanks to the co host of the week @Oscar UGARTE Gamboa, Managing Director of @SeedCapitalBizkaia for making the event faboulus with their hearts and souls. And my dear community The League of Intrapreneurs who invited me and also curated the most exciting workshop within the week offering the intelligence of powerful intrapreneurs doing the ‘’good business’’ from within their organisations as #changefromwithin. We, as the LOI, are offering an ‘’Intrapreneur Leadership Lab’’ in May 2025, and if you are interested please contact me for details. Next year, Impact week will be hosted in the great city of Malmö, so be there if you are part of the impact mission of the investment world. At our Together Investing in Tomorrow’s Talent dialogue, Audrey Mothupi, CEO of SystemicLogic Group, highlighted a simple but powerful truth: education is the foundation of South Africa’s future, and business should play a pivotal role in expanding access through thoughtful and sustained investment. She urged leaders to bring others on board, sparking a ripple effect that drives impact beyond their own organisations. A commitment to education is about more than just creating opportunities today. It builds a future where talent and potential can thrive, paying it forward for generations to come. #BuildingTomorrowTogether #CollaboratingForImpact #LeadershipInAction

Following a serene gathering of RisingGens around tea, we shifted our pace to a buzzing gathering of Sustainable Finance Initiative Family Impact Summit. The annual Summit is always a happening place where like-minds meet aligned-hearts-and-minds. And this year we enjoyed sharing from a multitude of international change-makers, who are progressive and convicted in their mindsets and impact modus operandi, as well as the deep dives in the afternoon of breakout Roundtable discussions. Our Co-Founder, Hanson Gong, shared the stage alongside two venerable investors Michaela Edwards and Sophie Khau to share their perspectives on ‘How to Invest Boldly in Uncertain Times’. ✏ Here are some key takeaways from Hanson: 💡 1/ Our mindset transformation & time horizon Many of us, either as personal or institutional investors or corporate executives, are used to ‘short-termism’ in our capital market cycles. But is this how our environment and climate operates? It is clear that financial paradigms, in which we are trained and know well, limit our thinking - can we ‘flip around’ what we know and understand how we can view our world and operate outside these paradigms? Further, fluctuations are part-and-parcel of financial cycles. We know this well, and see them as ‘noise’. So can we also transform our mindset around what we know and practise? 💡 2/ Getting from our current Point A to B Let’s dare to ask ourselves questions… On the spectrum of investing - on one end where we have philanthropic grants to the other end of market-rate investments - there are investments that fit different parts of the spectrum - If so, why are some ‘good’ investments not attracting market-rate capital? Is it a failure of our capital markets? Is there a way that we can attract more capital in the middle of such an investment spectrum? Can we innovate on grant-giving, for ex. make grants recoverable, or leverage guarantees? This is an innovative mindset and potentially products that can be ‘catalytic’ and transformative for what matters in our world. ✨ Collectively, we should continue to ask ourselves… How can we strive to be both more transformative and aspirational? Thank you to Sustainable Finance Initiative for a resoundingly inspiring summit - until next year! #RisingGens #SeedFutureCollective #impact #ImpactInvesting #FamilyOffice #CatalyticCapital #WealthForGood

I'm feeling divided.... to celebrate or not to celebrate the Innovate UK decision to award to the full 50 grants originally advertised 🤨🎉 On the one hand, I'm so inspired by the women who made this happen - special shoutouts to Emma Jarvis and Emmie Faust! This community has POWER and it is epic to see what we can achieve in such a short period. These funds will make a huge difference to the founders, and I want initiatives like this to be a huge success. But also, this all takes energy. We shouldn't have to be fighting for what female founders were promised, and the odds shouldn't keep being set against female founders, especially when the reason so many founders invested 50+ hours each, or thousands each, in this process was to have a higher chance of success than wider funding opportunities. Something seriously needs to shift for trust to be rebuilt in this space, and we need to see a lot more transparency Innovate UK going forward. This extends to initiatives like the Diversity and Inclusion Investment readiness initiative Innovate UK advertised last year which had an expected budget of £1.5m (see link in comments for the original call for proposals). Along with others on a mission to support underrepresented founders, I spent 2 days at an Innovate UK workshop, building a consortium and creating a support proposal. Shortly after the two days we were told the grant was being delayed, and nothing has since come of it a year later. It's hard to balance wanting to be considered for future awards, with wanting to challenge what isn't working. But something big needs to shift, and we need to keep calling for accountability from those supporting underrepresented founders particularly. #foundersupport #founderfunding #underrepresentedfounders

It focused on ensuring marginalized communities are central to systemic transitions. The panel featuring Giulia Corinaldi, Leslie Johnston, M.Sc., Anthony Dane, Maia Chiara Rossi, and Bella Landymore sparked profound conversations on equity and representation. A particularly thought-provoking moment came from Tamuz Zohar, who explored shifting power dynamics in systemic transitions. Discussions on incentivization structures and impact measurement are further connected deeply with Rypple Foundation’s mission. 📊 Inspiring Connections: It was a privilege to meet changemakers leading innovative efforts: * Ram M. – pioneering peace through development and infrastructure. * Evrim Hizaler (Anadolu Foundation) – driving impactful change in Turkey. * Juan Diego Mujica Filippi (Nativa) – advancing governance transformation. * Anthony Dane (Southern Transitions) – championing sustainability transitions. * Giedrė Birmontaitė (Unknown Group) * Bahaa Eddine Sarroukh Eddine Sarrough (Philips Foundation) – innovating in health-focused philanthropy. * Peter Cafferkey (Impact Europe) – finally meeting in person after multiple 2D calls :) Women’s Entrepreneurship Spotlight: The Cartier Women's Initiative session, beautifully organized by Annabelle Price and Anmol Prithani, was another highlight.
