Today is the 10th #NationalMentoringDay 📙 I know first-hand the difference a trusted mentor can make—which is why I’ve invested over £34m to ensure more young Londoners have access to life-changing, high-quality mentoring.

Mentoring: A Simple Act That Changes Lives Mentoring isn’t just about structured sessions or formal relationships - it’s about sharing knowledge, offering guidance, and creating opportunities for others to thrive. At the Scottish Tech Army, we’ve seen firsthand how mentoring can take shape in unexpected ways, sparking growth, connection, and impact. Andrew Rendle, one of our long-standing volunteers, shared his perspective on the value of mentoring and why it’s so important to him: “In terms of the significance of mentoring, to me, it’s just really quite straightforward. I have a strong desire to give back because throughout my career I’ve been helped by several people in a variety of different ways. So, if I can see opportunities to assist other people in moving forward, then I’m happy to do so.” Want to hear more?
