YPMH: The Foundation For Young People's Mental Health’s Post

Thank you for your kind message, Frank. Since its beginning in 2019, the collaboration between Institute for Manufacturing (IfM), University of Cambridge and YPMH: The Foundation For Young People's Mental Health has been terrific. Together, we have co-developed new approaches to help: 1.       Understand: o  How mental health conditions, such as depression in young people, develop through social and psychological factors and biological mechanisms o  How to identify opportunities to improve prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and personalised management and treatment 2.       Innovate: o  Specific innovations across a range of contexts o  Portfolios of innovations for, for example, specific care stages - such as primary prevention o  Portfolios of innovations for, for example, organisations engaging with young people, such as schools 3.       Implement innovations, considering: o  The factors needed to support behaviour change for individuals’, combining this with o  Change within organisations, and o  Change across ecosystems, helping to key stakeholders to understand their roles in delivering effective change.   -Looking forward to continuing our collaboration!

🌱 Did you know? Recent studies have highlighted the connection between #depression and #guthealth. Individuals experiencing depression often exhibit lower levels of diverse 'good' bacteria, which can impact the integrity of the gut wall, potentially leading to chronic inflammation associated with depressive symptoms. Nourish your body by eating 30 or more different plant types each week, including vegetables, pulses, beans, seeds, nuts, and fruit and avoiding highly processed foods that contain emulsifiers and other chemicals that can damage the microbiome and the gut wall. Eating fermented foods like kefir, sauerkraut, and kimchi is a great way to provide good bacteria that support a healthy microbiome! A healthy gut supports a happy mind! 🧠 To learn more, visit: https://bit.ly/44VYx3U #MentalWellness #mentalhealthfood #foodforthought
