Episode 69: The CEO Experience for Women of Color- https://lnkd.in/gi_ubPxW We have what it takes to be the boss. We're building amazing companies and making power moves that are setting up our future generations for wealth. Yet we are vulnerable as Moms in this society. We work to get parity with our counterparts. In short, we are drained at times. In a world that's fighting so hard to eliminate "woke" and refuse to acknowledge diversity, we find ourselves exhausted but steady moving. Our accomplishments matter. Let's take back the narrative and have the conversations. We have to do this amongst our own community and the community of women at large. So let's start the conversation so we can get on one accord because women banded together harness such power and can affect real change. But first, hear us. Listen wherever podcasts are streamed. My purpose is helping others achieve their potential. I recognize that when systems are not designed for equity and inclusion, I am not able to fully live into my potential when others are systemically blocked from achieving theirs. In order for me to be better coach and consultant for others, I need to engage in dismantling those barriers so that all can achieve their potential. This episode is an excerpt from the “Intentional Curiosity with Kevin Jones, ACC” episode of the What Do You Know To Be True? podcast where Kevin and I discuss the role of curiosity, empathy, and accountability in how we approach the work of increasing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the workplace and in our communities. - Watch the full bonus episode on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/gR8Z7jfP - Apple: https://lnkd.in/gBAfaNP2 - Spotify: https://lnkd.in/gxkwGcD2 I acknowledge my perspectives are partial, that my views come from a position of privilege which I did not earn, and reflect where I am in my journey. Episode 117 of Mike’s Search for Meaning features Kimberly Loh. I invited Kim to be a guest because she is a powerful voice in conflict resolution and peace building. In the polarized society and world we inhabit - whether it’s politics, gender identity, climate change - we are not very skilled at having productive conversations. Kim co-authored a book called ‘Compassionate Conversations’, that is a robust guidebook on how to more effectively understand ourselves and understand others, so we can have meaningful and challenging conversations that help us grow individually and collectively. As humans, conversation is one of the most powerful vehicles of change. I believe that if we do not uplevel our skills as communicators, we will continue to polarize even more deeply. This conversation has many nuggets that will support you to have more productive conversations in politics, intimate relationships, your workplace, and your life. Thanks so much for listening, and please enjoy the show.
