HuPao adheres to the guiding principles of ESG: Environmental, Social, and Governance sustainability. Regarding Environmental commitment, we prioritize carbon footprint reduction through rigorous carbon audits and installing monitoring equipment for energy consumption, particularly in electricity usage. This forms the foundation of our efforts towards energy conservation and carbon emission reduction. Regarding Social responsibility, HuPao distinguish ourselves from other traditional factories by recognizing the most valuable asset is people (employees). Thus, we prioritize aspects such as the work environment, job training, employee autonomy, and a transparent auditing system. As a result, many of our employees have been with us for over 20 years. We firmly believe that only with exceptional employees, a supportive work environment, and a commitment to corporate responsibility can a company thrive. Regarding Governance, HuPao has the Dun & Bradstreet enterprise certification and has been honored with the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs certification as a Potential Taiwan Mittelstand Award. We strictly adhere to national regulations in financial management and transparency. Sustainable operation and staying ahead of global market trends are central tenets of our belief system. We are committed to aligning with and exceeding global market trends, ensuring the long-term success. #ESG #ZeroCarbonEmission #EnvironmentAndEnergy #SocialCare #Sustainabledevelopment #Bestservicecompetitvepricehighquality

Pleasure speaking at UNIDO's Development Dialogue. Thank you for the powerful key notes, H.E. Mr Siam and MD Mr Gunther Beger, for the excellent event, Ms. Virpi Stucki, and the great panel with Vidiya Amrit Khan, Daisuke SHAMOTO, Michael Smetana and Tsung-Ping Chung. I agree, we all in the Global North sphere need to stop talking about the bad practices of companies in developing and industrializing countries, but instead engage in working with them. Good sustainability solutions are jointly developed, local, and constantly evolving. For that we need to substitute our paradigms: away from the current cost reduction-focused procurement approaches toward approaches built upon value co-creation with suppliers and sub-suppliers! This paradigm change is under way in academia and business, but deserves acceleration.
#UNIDO's Secretariat held a Development Dialogue on reshaping supply chains for #resilience and #sustainability. The event, attended by 100+ participants, discussed the transformative potential of #SupplyChains for #EnvironmentalProtection and #FairGlobalization. A resolution adopted during the 2023 General Conference emphasized cooperation, inclusive dialogue, and the sharing of #technology and #knowledge. #Bangladesh led this initiative, presenting a proposal for a Global Programme on #SustainableSupplyChains. The interactive session included insights from key stakeholders, reinforcing UNIDO's commitment to advancing sustainable and equitable supply chains. 👉 https://lnkd.in/dD3FAQmy | Gunther Beger | Virpi Stucki | Asad Alam Siam | Vidiya Amrit Khan | Michael Smetana | Daisuke SHAMOTO | Joerg Hofstetter |

It is undeniable that we are facing pressing concerns regarding global resource depletion and its potential impact on future generations. This sheds light on the alarming projection of a substantial rise in natural resource consumption by 2060, which poses risks to climate, biodiversity, and pollution control objectives. In response to these challenges, the Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) framework has emerged as a crucial tool for businesses to embrace responsible practices. ESG advocates for ethical investments, sustainable sourcing, and operational excellence, thereby fostering sustainable trade. The article highlights notable companies that have successfully integrated ESG principles into their operations. In Malaysia, government agencies such as MITI and MATRADE are spearheading ESG adoption through initiatives like KenalESG and the iESG Framework. These endeavors seek to embed sustainability into policies and practices pertaining to international trade. Furthermore, MATRADE's Government Sustainability Engagement Programme (GSEP) and Greening of Export Supply Chain (GxSCI) play pivotal roles in fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors to promote sustainable trade. The article underscores the significance of ESG in driving economic prosperity while safeguarding environmental and social well-being. It emphasises the urgency for collective action to secure a sustainable future for generations to come. Special thanks to Edison Choong led by Abu Bakar Yusof, representing MATRADE's sustainability team, for providing the essence of this article. #ESG #Sustainability #MITI

https://lnkd.in/dkgq4Xkx Managers of industrial concerns will use “green strategies” to build competitive advantage. Deglobalization and shortening of supply chains is gaining momentum. And if the Polish Investment Zone, together with large and small ports, fits into these strategies, it will contribute to the implementation of the policy set by industry leaders during the February meeting in Antwerp.

By the end of last year, SIPPO was prominently mentioned in “The Fifth Communication on Engagement of the Privredna komora Srbije | Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia in Accordance with Ten UN Global Compact Principles”. The report refers to the introduction by SIPPO of its new intervention “Sustainable Market Access” into CCIS and its support at Biofach 2023 for the “Partnership for Sustainability”. The UN Global Compact Principles are an important reference framework for SIPPO’s seven Guiding Principles for Sustainable Trade that are contextualized to each of the six sectors in the SIPPO Programme. The goal of SIPPO’s training courses together with the CCIS was to inform employees of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia on the concept of sustainability, business models of circular economy, as well as to transpose the elements of the newly adopted Agenda at the level of business entities. Realizing sustainability in global supply chains by upskilling and human-centered business models. Big honor: UNIDO DG Gerd Müller introduced our new White Paper “Skills Development for Fair Production and Sustainable Supply Chains” at the UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Global Supply Chain Forum. Lead companies’ main strategies on supply chain sustainability are on managing risks while reducing costs. Assuming that sustainability practices cascade through the supply chain or that suppliers can be coerced to change their practices are major misconceptions. Certainly, suppliers and sub-suppliers require a broader and deeper set of skills to keep up with stakeholder requests and regulations. That's challenging, but they also need to be enabled to use these new skills: Creating long-term environmental, social and economic value for all actors in the supply chain requires a collaborative approach. It requires a system where each actor benefits while supporting others in realizing their benefits. Suppliers need opportunities to develop and leverage their unique skills to co-create long-term value. As long as lead companies argue that they first need to make the money before it can be shared with suppliers / sub-suppliers, sustainability targets (SDGs, COP21) will be missed. For this, the mandate of procurement (and the idea of value from supply) needs to shift from cost reduction and risk limitation to value co-creation. We encourage governments in supplier countries and business leaders to focus on developing unique assets that respect society and nature and allow the co-creation of value for their societies and the rest of the world. #GVC #sustainability #KEDGE Thanks to Gunther Beger, Virpi Stucki, Mattias Larsen at UNIDO My co-authors Moses Acquaah, Rex Asiama (PhD), Alisa Herrero Cangas Thanks for important insights and inspirations we received in conversations with many leading experts, in particular from Tima Bansal, Juliane Reinecke, Sanjay Sharma, Joseph Sarkis, Patrick Schröder, Stephen Vargo, Tarkan Tan, Jann Lay, Dorothee Baumann-Pauly, Klaus Staubitzer, Antonia Wanner, Andreas Dörr, Marco Baren, Thomas Udesen, Christoph Inauen, Uwe G Schulte, Annalisa Primi
"Global supply chains and global goods need global standards." That was #UNIDO Director General Gerd Müller's message at the UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Global Supply Chain Forum. Müller stressed UNIDO's role as a voice for the least developed countries on the international stage, especially the small island developing states, emphasizing that these are the countries which require global solidarity and support the most. In the course of the Global Supply Chain Forum, UNIDO has launched a White Paper on Skills for Sustainable Supply Chains which highlights how the Organization can help developing countries build up the skills in the workforce that they need to deal with new supply chain regulations and questions of sustainability so as to maximize market access, economic opportunities, and compliance simultaneously.
