📸 Captured this pair of iStent Glaukos Corporation on gonioscopy in my glaucoma clinic today! What are your thoughts on integrating this technology into clinical practice? I’d love to hear about your experiences. #iStent #Gonioscopy #GlaucomaManagement #OphthalmologyInnovation #EyeHealth #MedicalDevices

Gonioscopy is above the scope of entry level optoms. Unfortunately, I couldn’t even practise this skill at uni due to covid. This is only done by optoms with higher cert/ diploma in glaucoma. We are far away from this being integrated in primary care. There is no funding for this skill in primary care. It won’t be mainstream for decades I suspect unless you work in HES.

Great Photograph….. I wish we saw more of the Istents and Hydrus being utilised in Routine cataract surgery for patients with glaucoma…. Every 1 mm of mercury makes a difference and every patient who can safely avoid a trab is a patient usually with a better quality of life and outcome.
