When I was working on emerging tech project and analyzing Indias capabilities in wireless and networking technologies, I came across the Airtel’s investments in satellite internet with OneWeb. I discussed with my colleagues and predicted that this investment in emerging tech capability of sattelite internet by airtel is going to out compete rivals in India in coming days. As the wireless networking technology capability belongs to satellite internet, Airtel’s future-focused strategic investments into this soon going to be fruitful. This is why emerging tech capabilities are important. #emergingtech #wirelesscommunication #technology #satelliteinternet Air Vice Marshal (Dr) Devesh Vatsa VSM Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Rajesh Kumar Pathak

First mover advantage indeed for Airtel. From Starlink perspective, commencement of direct Satellite connectivity service for consumer by the competition, may help to gauge the market response, acceptability of the product and demand potential and time to design apt GTM. Both can be gainers in these process.

Bharti Airtel Services, led by Sunil Mittal, and Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio plan to invest an additional $2 billion in new 5G network equipment to enhance their next-generation mobile broadband services. The companies are expected to procure $1 billion each, primarily from suppliers like Ericsson, Nokia, and Samsung. As India's 5G user base grows, with Airtel reaching 75 million users and Jio 130 million, the telecom giants are preparing for further expansion, supported by recent tariff hikes. Airtel is also transitioning to standalone (SA) mode, while Jio continues its SA operations. These investments are set to boost Nokia and Ericsson, who've seen a decline in revenues from reduced network capex. #BhartiAirtel #RelianceJio #SunilMittal #MukeshAmbani #5GNetwork #Ericsson #Nokia #Samsung #Telecom #5GExpansion #IndiaTelecom #MobileBroadband #startup77

Mukesh Ambani's Telecom Ambitions Expand to Africa: A New Challenge for Airtel Mukesh Ambani, the visionary behind Reliance Jio's disruption of India's telecom market, is now setting his sights on Africa. This strategic move, poised to shake up the African telecom landscape, mirrors the aggressive tactics that made Jio a giant in India. By leveraging advanced technology and competitive pricing, Ambani aims to revolutionize the way Africans access mobile services. Reliance Jio's entry into Africa could significantly impact Airtel, which has a substantial presence on the continent. Airtel must now brace for a fierce battle as Jio's playbook focuses on mass adoption through affordable data plans and extensive network coverage. This expansion could lead to increased competition, potentially driving down prices and improving service quality across the region. The potential benefits for African consumers are immense, with improved connectivity and access to digital services. However, the competitive pressure on existing players like Airtel could also lead to consolidation in the market. As Ambani's Jio sets the stage for its African venture, the telecom industry is on the cusp of a transformative era, promising exciting developments and new opportunities. #MukeshAmbani #RelianceJio #TelecomIndustry #AfricaExpansion
