💡 Transformation Tuesday 💡 After a productive end of the week at the AALNC forum, I started this week off by discussing spirituality with students in their first semester of nursing school. This group of women and men give me a positive outlook on the future of nursing as they all genuinely want to be nurses. Just like many other topics in nursing, spirituality is a soft skill that is based on "therapeutic communication." I remember rolling my eyes every time I heard the phrase "therapeutic communication" during my nursing school days. But now, I am the one trying to impart some wisdom to these young, impressionable minds. I have done a handful of lectures this semester, and every time I stand in front of that classroom, I reflect on how far I have come as a nurse. I realize that I am much more mature and responsible than my 19-year-old self, which I guess is an expected outcome of a 15-year career. How have you changed since graduating high school? I would love to hear about it. #nurse #lnc #transformationtuesday

I have changed tremendously since graduating high school. I have more wisdom, more life experience and a deeper level of compassion for others.

Wonderful to hear this. I was afraid that nursing schools no longer were trained to address the whole patient; physical, emotional, and spiritual. Well done.
