What would happen if a ball was going at 90% the speed of light? Here is a cool video which gives a visual representation of some of the events that would occur. https://lnkd.in/gWcbDJ65 (xkcd's What If? Youtube, Feb 2024) References: xkcd's What If? Youtube, Feb 2024 - https://lnkd.in/gWcbDJ65

Let’s talk about this! What are your thoughts on this?
Question(s) for my touring/ticketing services folks: Do music artists have the ability to “upsell” merch during the ticket-buy process? Has anyone seen a ticket seller push merch or an limited item for pick up at the show (think baseball bobblehead night)? Is there any reason why this isn’t or can’t be done?

Here's how you win the recovery game. 1. Think "precovery." → Hit fuel targets – don't dig a bigger hole ✓ Applies to pre-match and in-match 2. Post-match compounding. → Build your recovery strategy in stages. ✓ Drinks on the pitch ✓ Finger foods and drinks available ✓ Recovery goodie bags on pegs ✓ Take large meals home ✓ High-fuel treat before bed 3. Treat MD+1 like MD-1. → Make recovery the easy choice. ✓ High-fuel meals ✓ Recovery session fuel station ✓ 'Grab and go' options ✓ Exploit R&R areas (e.g., lounge, sauna) ♻️ Repost if you found this useful.
"We used recovery bags after matches. Something players can take away from the stadium with them." This week, Performance Nutritionist Tom Shaw, formerly of Sparta Prague spoke to Matt Solomon about fuelling to for football ⚽ https://lnkd.in/gXfbQy_P YouTube, or Spotify

Hopefully Kendrick Lamar asks a local artist to open for him or to join him on stage. It would also be great if he, Roc Nation, and Apple contributed to a local organization that supports young musicians, such as The Roots of Music. https://lnkd.in/gXnCUfET ICYMI: Apple recently got out of paying New Orleans sales tax on music streaming services. https://lnkd.in/gsV36tdV Meanwhile, The City of New Orleans is rushing to spend $40-60M on cosmetic changes for Super Bowl tourists, at the expense of locals who need real long term infrastructure support. There’s always money for stuff like this but never for covering basic needs for residents. The big game is expected to bring 125,000 visitors and at least $500 million in economic impact to the state, so hopefully some of that money is actually used on what the city needs, like affordable & transitional housing, a reliable electrical grid, accessibility upgrades in public spaces and local transit, working pumps, etc. https://lnkd.in/ggJQeYiC There’s this phenomenon down here of money—millions—being earmarked for infrastructure projects that mysteriously is never spent. https://lnkd.in/gavsGDHZ The silver lining of all this recent press is that more projects are being fast tracked, timed with the Super Bowl. But it shouldn’t be this way. New Orleans is great to visit but living down here is a whole other thing.

"We divide the end results of jump shots into three categories. 1) Swish. The ball lands inside the rim and doesn't touch it. It's always a make. We look to maximise the portion of swishes. 2) Rimball. The ball touches the rim. It can be either a make or a miss. We look to have swishes instead of rimballs and rimballs instead of airballs and to maximise the portion of rimballs that turn into makes. 3) Airball. The ball lands outside the rim and doesn't touch it. It's always a miss. We look to minimise the portion of airballs. When it comes to the flight path of the ball, there are two aspects that are crucial as to whether it's a make or a miss." ... https://lnkd.in/dE4h9csu
