Connecting experienced Building Services Engineers with amazing career opportunities across Australia | Message me on LinkedIn for help with your recruitment challenges📱0403 625 836 📧 gareth@connexusrecruitment.com
Finding great engineers is tough, but keeping them? Now that's the real challenge, isn't it? As a recruiter in building services, I've seen how competitive it is, and holding onto key staff ain't easy. Companies invest so much time and effort in finding and training the best talent, yet retention often slips through the cracks. Retention needs to be front and centre, especially in a tight market. I've noticed clients with great staff retention, seem to: 1) Chat with their engineers regularly: understand their needs and help carve out clear career paths. 2) Work Life balance: everyone has a life outside of work, they respect that. 3) Keep an eye on inflation: wages need to keep pace with the cost of living, they are on top of salary reviews, without the engineers asking. At the end of the day, being a decent leader and creating a positive workplace culture is what truly matters in keeping people.
