Don't you think we need a fairer way to pick marketing job candidates? Most of the time, companies make candidates prepare a marketing strategy as part of the hiring process, but they don't hire the best person because they can't afford them. Then, they use the ideas from the best candidate but pay someone cheaper. #hiring #marketingjobs #hiringprocess #sportsmarketing

A few months ago, a #recruiter reached out to me. She was looking for someone with #marketing and #logistics experience for a company based in Long Island. We connected over the j/d (#branding, #budgeting, logistics understanding, strategic planning), and everything was great. My initial thought was that this company wanted someone to help them navigate the logistics industry, for the person I would be reporting to was not a logistics industry person. A few minutes into my interview, it became clear the hiring manager was looking for someone to 'campaign', to get the company out there. I stopped him mid-sentence and said, "Sorry, but this is not me." Taken back by my honesty, he tells me that when growing out of the team, he would like to explore my interest in being a product manager for them. A few emails and voicemails later, nothing. I have to remain persistent. I can grow the brand. I have fostered relationships, used simple tasks to get branding, and eased into social media while still using traditional marketing means. The old ways of doing things still work; companies need to understand this and not focus on one way because competitors are. Be where they are, and be where they aren't!! #hireme #longislandjobs #longislandhiring #newyorkjobs #forhire #jobprocess #marketingmanager #staythecourse #marketingprofessor #socialmedia #jobsearch #jobseeker #digitalmarketerforhire #jobsearching #hiring #recruitment #jobhunt #logisticscompany #professorforhire

How does your company communicate its talent brand to potential candidates? Career Websites and Job Portals: Maintaining an engaging career website that highlights the company culture, values, mission, and available job opportunities is crucial. It serves as a central hub for candidates to learn about the organization. Social Media Presence: Leveraging platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to showcase company culture, employee stories, achievements, and upcoming job openings. It helps in engaging with potential candidates and portraying an authentic brand image . Employee Testimonials and Reviews: Encouraging current employees to share their experiences through testimonials, reviews on platforms like Glassdoor, and internal blogs. Authentic feedback from employees can significantly influence potential candidates. Recruitment Marketing: Employing targeted marketing campaigns specifically designed to attract potential candidates. This might involve using targeted ads, content marketing, and email campaigns focused on showcasing the company's unique culture and opportunities. Employer Branding Events: Organizing or participating in industry events, job fairs, webinars, and conferences to interact with potential candidates directly, offering insights into the company's culture and values. Employee Referral Programs: Incentivizing current employees to refer potential candidates through referral programs. It not only helps in reaching out to passive job seekers but also reinforces the positive aspects of the company culture. Consistent Brand Messaging: Ensuring consistency in brand messaging across all communication channels, including job descriptions, recruitment materials, and interactions with candidates. This helps in building a coherent and authentic brand image. Collaboration with PR and Marketing Teams: Collaborating with the PR and marketing teams to align talent brand messaging with the overall corporate branding strategy. This ensures a unified brand image across the board. Interactive Content: Creating interactive content such as videos, virtual tours, Q&A sessions, and live streams to provide a more immersive experience for potential candidates, allowing them to get a glimpse of the company culture. Feedback and Improvement: Continuously seeking feedback from candidates regarding their experiences during the recruitment process. Analyzing this feedback helps in identifying areas for improvement and refining the talent brand communication strategy. Saroj Chauhan Abhik Das Aditi Mandal
