It's impossible to imagine a world without teachers. They are essential to shaping young minds, inspiring curiosity and nurturing life long learning for today’s children and future leaders.   Recently, teachers came together in Ankara for the Professional Development and Social Impact Generators Programs to explore innovative teaching methods and techniques that will enhance effectiveness and engagement in the classroom. Since 2018, together with the Ministry of National Education, Zurich Türkiye and Türk Eğitim Derneği, we have built sustainable partnerships across sectors through ‘Our Teachers: Insurance of Education’ program.   So far, we have supported 1,138 teachers from 77 provinces, positively impacting 34,140 students and 170,700 family members.   We are so inspired by the amazing teachers who have created a supportive and resilient learning community for their students and families.    #WorldTeachersDay #EnablingSocialEquity #Education

Care at work: Nurturing caregiver mental health to shape the future of our workplaces Coinciding with World Mental Health Day on Thursday 10th October, UNICEF, alongside the UNICEF-led Global Coalition for Youth Mental Wellbeing, and the UN Global Compact are hosting a webinar to focus on this important topic. “Before, I didn’t speak much. I had a lot of fears,” shares Nishant, a student from Surkhet. But after joining school-based mental health sessions, he now feels more confident expressing his emotions. “These classes have really helped me. I can talk more openly about my feelings now.” These sessions, using socio-emotional learning tools tailored to local needs, are helping students like Nishant manage stress and find support. Underserved youth with limited access to education and employment opportunities face significant challenges in creating sustainable livelihoods. On the side of the UN General Assembly and the Summit of the Future, together with JA Worldwide and Junior Achievement USA and fantastic youth advocates, we looked at how we can strengthen and scale ecosystems and partnerships, integrate youth voices, and share best practices globally to support young visionaries in turning their projects into reality, like Odyek in Uganda (video ⬇). By harnessing the power of multi-sector partnerships, we can amplify our collective efforts and create impactful opportunities that empower and support young people in reaching their full potential.   #EnablingSocialEquity #EmpowerYouth #YoungEntrepreneurs

🗣 The "On Our Minds" Call to Action It is New York Climate Week, but also the UN General Assembly and the Summit of the Future. As members of UNICEF’s Global Coalition for Youth Mental Health, we have launched an Open Letter calling for heightened investment and action on child and youth mental health – backed by other businesses and organizations and wider supporters. Urgent action is needed to close the $200 billion global funding gap for mental health. Supporting child, youth and caregiver mental health is critical amidst global challenges. We know by investing in youth mental health today, we can ensure a resilient future for tomorrow’s leaders.
