In the transformative 1960s, Zachry had projects that took them abroad, underscoring a commitment to innovation and excellence. Kwajalein Atoll - Nike Zeus Testing Facilities (Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands): Zachry's first major overseas project took them 5,500 miles from San Antonio, TX, to the Marshall Islands. Constructing the Nike Zeus testing facilities for $3.2 million showcased Zachry’s international capabilities. Hilton Palacio del Rio: The "Palace of the River" in San Antonio, TX, was innovative and efficiently built with modular construction, methods in which Zachry obtained patents. Zachry completed the 500-room hotel in an astonishing 202 working days, ahead of schedule for the 1968 World’s Fair. Shortly after, Zachry entered the hospitality business by acquiring the hotel and ultimately operating and managing the property. #Zachry100 #BuildingTheExtraordinary #CenturyofExcellence
