EU Green New Deal should prioritise support for collective renovation!! I have already praised the Global Covenant of Mayors which has an important role to play in the Green Industrial Revolution that needs to happen internationally. The proposal below from the City of Antwerp for funding & initiatives to support “ collective renovation” is a no- brainer! Having just had my own home retrofitted, it was an expensive and solitary business. The cost and labour efficiencies that could be achieved through mobilising districts and residential estates to engage collectively in retrofitting and renovation would makes such good sense! If the EU’s Green New Deal is to achieve its ambitious goals then “ collective retrofitting and renovation” of properties definitely needs to be prioritised. Local authorities will need to play a lead role along with community partnerships, local businesses etc.
In front of different challenges, broad partnerships emerge as our greatest ally! 🤝 Join us and Britt Berghs, Project Coordinator at Linkeroever for the city of Antwerp 🇧🇪, in reflecting on the recent event “A new era for the European Renovation Wave”. 👉https://lnkd.in/dkwTebnu

🤝 🚶♂️ ACROSS – Let’s talk about local analysis and policy improvement! 🎧 In the framework of the ACROSS Interreg Europe project, in which BURST is an #advisory partner facilitating the interregional learning process, the 3rd Thematic Expert Team (TET) and management meeting took place online on last Monday (2 December 2024). 📝 The aim of the event was not only to discuss the actual status of the project implementation, but also to immerse in the details of the #policyimprovement process and the local analysis reports. A quite interesting and lively part of the meeting was the ”peer review exercise”, of which #methodology was introduced by our expert, Katalin Bunyevácz. The essence of this technique was the pairing of the project partners, in order to 👉 get to know in detail, 👉 evaluate, 👉 provide feedback on each other’s local analysis report based on a checklist consisting of 10 questions, which was compiled also by BURST. The useful methodological tool will provide further guidance and assistance to the partners in the finalisation of their reports and reaching their aims align with public and corporate sustainability goals and to establish a strategic, long-term cooperation between economic actors and local authorities. At Drive Sweden Forum - Online, 30 January, you'll hear results from the project MeMo - Citizen Driven Mobility Services. This preliminary study explores how mobility hubs and surrounding mobility services can be designed to support socially sustainable shared mobility and transportation. This is done by establishing Living Labs in Gothenburg and Mölndal in two geographically and demographically distinct areas. In these Living Labs, citizen-driven co-creation is carried out to develop design concepts for future mobility hubs by connecting local stakeholders and citizens with stakeholders and project participants. Presenting and discussing the results are Oliver Weberg, Halmstad University, Per Sunnergren, Lindholmen Science Park and staffan claesson, Framtiden Byggutveckling AB. Other partners participating in the project were: Bokab - Bohusläns Kommunala Exploaterings AB, HSB, Härryda kommun, Landvetter Södra Utveckling, MölnDala, Mölndal Parkering, Mölndalsbostäder, Mölndals stad, Peab och Västtrafik.

Get back to track. A meeting twenty years later is not just an occasion for memories, but an opportunity to once again feel the energy and drive that accompanied the creation of one of the most ambitious projects in Eastern Europe. Back then, Richard, his team, and I faced a task that demanded not only professionalism but also courage: to create the commercial vision for a new landmark, select a unique concept, choose the right architect, and bring that vision to life. At the time, everything seemed both vast and new—each step felt like venturing into uncharted territory. But now, looking back, we see that experience not as a challenge, but as a unique moment when we weren’t just working; we were shaping the future of the real estate market. And now, years later, the thought arises: why not try again? Perhaps a new project could be just as ambitious and leave an equally lasting impact. With the experience we’ve gained, which only a handful of people possess, we are even better equipped to face new challenges. We know how to create a commercial vision that lasts decades, how to choose a concept that resonates with the future, and how to build a team that can turn that vision into reality. Maybe it’s time to gather the team again, look at today’s challenges with the same spirit of innovation we had back then, and see what this meeting might bring.

The future is green
🚆 We’re excited to share that a new passenger stop is being constructed on railway line number 95 in Przylasek Rusiecki! This project began in September 2023, will be completed by the end of 2024 and will significantly enhance local communities' access to rail transport. 🚀This initiative marks the first installation of System 300 with M3 in Poland, helping to address future challenges already today. We’re able to reduce the CO2 footprint, improve transportation costs and simplify on-site handling. The project not only benefits the local area, but is also a significant step for railway development across Poland.🗺️ 🤝We look forward to future collaborations with PORR Polska that will continue to advance green rail infrastructure and enhance the journey ahead for communities across Poland!
