Last week, I took Whoosh, the high speed train between Jakarta and Bandung, for the second and third time. After decades, Whoosh has been a welcomed change in transportation mode between the cities. The usual 3-hour train ride between Jakarta and Bandung I used to take when I was a student at ITB is now reduced to 30 minutes Whoosh + 20 minutes of feeder train. The improvement by more than 3x is significant. One could have Batagor breakfast in Bandung and then zip to Jakarta for a meeting plus Soto Betawi lunch and be back to Bandung before dinner time. The travel time reduction has huge positive impact to economy, benefiting individuals, businesses, and society as a whole: 1. Economic Growth: Efficient transportation increases trade, commerce, and economic activity. 2. Job Creation: Transportation infrastructure projects generate employment opportunities. 3. Increased Productivity: Faster and reliable transportation reduces travel time, increasing productivity. 4. Reduced Costs: Efficient transportation lowers logistics costs, benefiting businesses and consumers. 5. Improved Competitiveness: Reliable transportation enhances competitiveness, attracting investments and businesses. 6. Increased Accessibility: Better transportation connects remote areas, promoting economic development. 7. Environmental Benefits: Modern transportation modes reduce emissions, promoting sustainability. Video: the vast Cikarang industrial area, home to 7000+ factories, along the Whoosh railway. Chief Representative @ SYSTEMA Art of Automation | Leading Southeast Asia's Manufacturing Transformation
The roadshow on 3 July 2024 in Surabaya, "Together Towards Sustainability," hosted by the Kementerian of Perindustrian, co-hosted by WANTRII, organized by Naganaya, and with the involvement of APTIKNAS - National Indonesian ICT Business Association, drew significant attention from many participants. The focus was on how companies, especially manufacturing firms, can transition from outdated manual procedures to a more sustainable future with advanced technology. 🎤 Speakers like Pak Sulyanto from Polytron and many others shared their experiences and best practices, highlighting that the journey towards Industry 4.0 requires management involvement, a shift in mindset, and identifying pain points to map them to available market solutions. By doing so, transformation becomes achievable. 🗣️ I had the privilege of speaking on how to overcome challenges and find solutions linked to smart manufacturing. My main message was to focus on long-term solutions by moving away from customized, self-programmed tools/software and adopting standardized, scalable solutions. 🙏 I want to thank the event speakers, including Pak Sulyanto from Polytron, the moderator Pak Ageng from APTIKNAS, Pak Hariatmoko from WANTRII, and the organizers, Pak Marco and Pak Rafi from Naganaya, for making the event a great success. I look forward to future events and collaborations to drive progress in Indonesia. 📸 Further impressions of the roadshow can be found below. #Sustainability #Industry40 #SmartManufacturing #DigitalTransformation #Innovation #Technology #FutureOfWork #Manufacturing #Indonesia #APTIKNAS #WANTRII #Naganaya #Polytron #KementerianPerindustrian #SYSTEMA

Just accomplished another journey to support the development of village in Indonesia. We, a team from Universitas Padjadjaran and Disbudpar Kabupaten Bandung visit a village in Kabupaten Bandung-- Desa Cilengkrang. Desa Cilengkrang is just 30-minute-drive from the heart of Bandung. The village has a wonderful city view with cultural tourism potential -- Benjang Helaran and Benjang Gulat. From some theory to real action. It's not just a-2-days workshop. We aim some very next steps to be done in the next 2 months. Well, indeed, the support from Kepala Desa is needed. Let's create more impacts. #SustainableDevelopmentGoals #SustainableTourism #SDG #DesaWisata
