ZALORA Celebrates Southeast Asian countries' Independence and National Days Last month, Zalorians celebrated Singapore’s 59th Birthday! With over 50 Zalorians and their families being treated to a breathtaking aerial view of the parade and celebrations, the office brimmed with excitement and joy! Complete with a popcorn station alongside traditional snacks, everyone had a great time celebrating! Continuing the excitement in Singapore, Zalorians also celebrated Indonesia's 78th Independence Day. In the office, our Zalorians had an exciting round of games, quizzes, tasty food, and amazing prizes! Dressed in white and red, the colours of the Indonesian flag, they filled the office with laughter and joy! A huge shoutout to our local Z Happiness Committees for setting up the beautiful décor and creating such a fun atmosphere. Thank you to everyone who attended and celebrated these special occasions with us!

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑 𝐎𝐅 𝐇𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐓𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐁𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 Life is full of ups and downs, and it's all about habits. If you create a habit of always reaching for the best, then the best is yet to come. With that spirit, I have been traveling worldwide, and the past 10 years in Vietnam have changed my life. My career as a Hotel General Manager truly blossomed with my first role at the beautiful Tam Coc Garden. I’m, and always will be, extremely grateful for all the opportunities that came my way and the chances I created for myself. By the end of 2023, I felt it was time for a change. Whether it meant moving forward to a new adventure or eventually returning to Vietnam, I knew I needed a break. I needed to invest in myself and break the loop I was used to in order to reach the next level. That’s when I received an offer from Indonesia after posting on LinkedIn that I was ready to move. Since joining Plataran in early 2024, I’ve felt a deep sense of fulfillment. I feel like my mind, my experiences, and everything I've been through have led me to this point. Every professional and personal experience has shaped me into the person I am today. I feel more in control and happier to witness my growth. Let’s continue this journey and see where it goes, but one thing is certain: my consulting skills in hospitality management have proven themselves to be right. #PlataranBromo #HospitalityExcellence #Sustainability #GuestExperience #Leadership #NewBeginnings

How would you handle unexpected changes in your plans? Like many Singaporeans, I recently went on a day trip to Johor. I spent time researching the places to explore and came up with an itinerary. After we explored the first destination, as we were driving to our second destination, I asked a question as I had heard about this place for a long time but was not familiar with it: "Is Kota Tinggi nearby and what's there to see?" My friend replied that it's not far from where we were heading and is popular for its waterfalls, and asked if we should go there. Being a nature lover, I said yes. This meant we had to change our plan. So we did some quick research on the places to visit in Kota Tinggi and then drove for over an hour to get there. The ‘best’ part was that when we arrived, the waterfall was closed, no longer open to the public (unbelievable, no mention of this when we did our research). 😮 So, we had to drive back for over an hour again to where we had originally wanted to go. When we got there, we were told the place was closed for visiting hours (it was only 4.45pm then). My goodness, not again! 😮 What could have been seen as wasted 2.5 hours of travel time became valuable lessons: Resilience: Disappointments are inevitable in life. The real test lies in our response – whether we persevere, maintain a positive attitude, accept setbacks as learning opportunities, and find alternative solutions, or whether we become stuck in frustration, engage in constant complaint, and remain in self-pity. Adaptability: Learning to adapt to unforeseen circumstances is key. Instead of insisting on rigid plans that no longer work, being open to adjusting plans on the fly helps navigate through unexpected challenges. Appreciation for the Journey: Amidst challenges, appreciate the journey itself, regardless of the outcome. Despite the ‘setbacks’, the day trip offered moments of joy, discovery, and bonding. Embracing the journey fosters gratitude. Sometimes, in spite of our best efforts, things don't go as planned. Learning to accept this reality is part of the journey and helps us navigate life's uncertainties with greater strength. #resilience #mentalhealth #malaysia

🌋 Exploring Indonesia: A Journey of Teamwork and Growth 🌄 I recently organized an unforgettable trip to Indonesia, visiting the breathtaking Mount Bromo, Mount Ijen, Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, and Madakaripura Waterfall. Our group of 11 ranging from 25+ to above 70 years old, coming from diverse background-originated from various states, business sectors, employed vs. self-employed, met together for our first time for this journey. The trip offered more than just stunning views of volcanoes, sunrises, and waterfalls. It taught me invaluable lessons about organizing, managing, and leading a diverse group: ⭐️Acceptance and Forgiveness: Embrace people for who they are, regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs. Differences in behavior and thought can be resolved through understanding and patience. ⭐️Care and Compassion: Even as strangers, we cared for each other like family. Sharing personal belongings and offering support without expecting anything in return was a testament to our bond. ⭐️No Complaints: Despite waking up at midnight, enduring long travel hours in a HIACE van, and braving the cold (10-15°C) for sunrise, everyone remained positive and enjoyed the "torturous" journey. ⭐️Teamwork: Experienced hikers guided and encouraged newcomers, while younger members supported the elderly without hesitation. This spirit of teamwork was truly inspiring. ⭐️Positive Vibes: Surround yourself with positivity, and you'll attract the same energy. Focus on aligning yourself rather than trying to change others. I feel blessed to have shared this experience with such amazing people and to have had perfect weather. Our trip was perfectly timed. We were fortunate that we were back safely - was not caught in rain or and affected by earthquake at Mount Ijen, which happened as soon as we returned home. "Erica, what's next?" Thank you, team, for trusting me. Stay tuned for the next adventure! #Leadership #Teamwork #OrganizationalSkills #GroupTravel #TravelInspiration #worklifebalance
