I’d like to share some highlights from our journey over the past 3 years at Green Team Group A/S, where we’ve been working tirelessly to shape our Performance Strategy, comparing it to a high performance team in the world of sports. This is the key insights that have emerged along the way. Achieving high performance in a company is much like being part of a Formula 1 team. At Green Team Group, we’ve worked hard to ensure our performance strategy mirrors this approach. Clear roles and responsibilities are as essential in a high-performing business team as they are in an F1 team. This clarity drives agility and efficiency, just like a race team working seamlessly toward victory, where every second and every role counts. Resilience is key as well. Ever wondered how a missed call could lead to an international, career-defining project? About a year ago, I got a call from a UK number. Like any good Dutchie, I assumed it was a scam and ignored it. But when the same number called back and left a voicemail, I thought, “Wait a minute… scammers don’t leave voicemails. 🤔 ” Turns out, it was Jamie Isagba from The Mill, inviting me to collaborate on a project—and to hop on a call with their head of design at that time, Henry Foreman. A quick Google search later (being an industry-illiterate), I was floored. The Mill is big. Like, really big. How did they even find me? Turns out, Henry had reverse-searched a Batman Noir image on Google and stumbled upon my black-and-white NOIR artworks. Yes, they found me through a random image search! And even crazier? They’d emailed me weeks before, but I’d missed it. This project nearly slipped away! I was stoked to join a call with Henry, Jay Lovelock and renowned director François Rousselet. Great people, great vibes, and the project? Absolutely amazing. The commercial, Eurostar’s award-winning “Together We Go Further” campaign, was an ambitious production with millions of views, displayed on TV, in theaters, on YouTube, and beyond. I had the honour to design the Cologne chapter. Looking back, this experience taught me a lot, but two things specifically: 1. Keep your website updated and visible. SEO matters—even if it’s not top of mind. 2. Stay on top of your communications. Sometimes an email is the difference between missing or landing a huge opportunity.
