"RENEW SPLASH" 🌟 Yeah! We have different programs, but "#Renew" as their taglines 😁! Join us to make it fun and suggest a tagline in the comment section😎 . Did you know that #clean, #green, and #renewable #energy are different?🤔 Well, they are! Read on. #Clean_Energy is electricity that does not create any greenhouse gasses during its production – although it is not necessarily renewable. While clean energy often includes renewable sources, it can also encompass other low-emission technologies, such as #nuclear power or advanced natural gas technologies with carbon capture and storage. The focus is promoting technologies that reduce emissions and curbs environmental impacts. #Renewable_Energy is electricity produced from natural sources that either replenish themselves over short periods or never run out at all. Forms of generation are solar, wind, hydro (water), geothermal (heat), and biomass (plant and waste material). However, the technologies used in exploring these renewable sources could contribute to environmental impacts. Solar can affect land use while hydro can affect biodiversity. #Green_energy is a broad term that refers to energy derived from renewable and sustainable sources, with minimal negative impact on the environment. The key point is that it does not only represent the energy source with the best environmental impact but it is also renewable. Insightful, right? Well, our desire is to ensure that we ramp up all types of energy (clean, green, and renewables) to meet the 2030 Agenda! It doesn't matter what term we call it 😂 . Or do you think we should distinguish them? Tell us in the comment section. On the sidelines, our "#Renew_Education" educational series has been uploaded to our YouTube channel including the #COP28 Debrief held last year. Go ahead to stream, like, and subscribe to our channel. LEITWIND's strategy 🔎 Innovation is a top priority for LEITWIND. To stand out from the crowd, LEITWIND focuses on wind turbines of a "medium size" (250 kW – 3000 kW), which creates opportunities to solve logistical or dimensional problems and makes it easier to obtain permits. LEITWIND always does its best to adapt to the needs of the customer as well as to the needs of the location to have the right product for everyone. 👥 🍃 Want to know more? Watch this Reel in which Davide Albani, Head of B.U. LEITWIND, is interviewed. 👇 #LEITWIND #Innovation #Susatinability #GreenEnergy #WindPower

Intern Recruiter at Jan De Nul Group / Shaping water and land: Dredging, Offshore, Civil, Environment
Our colleagues in Hulsdonk are testing this all-electric Volvo excavator. It’s as powerful as its diesel equivalent, but with zero emissions and much quieter operation. This is a new step for Jan De Nul in the transition to building sustainably with renewable energy. #proudtobeJDN #electrification #sustainablebuilding #emissions #eliminateemissions

Ports need to supply ships with megawatts of power to charge in under two hours. The BlueStor consortium, a project created by MSE International, is developing batteries for the job. We speak to MSE International CEO Jonathan Williams about the advantages of organic flow batteries and also take a look at others in the industry including Energy Vault, Invinity Energy Systems, Swanbarton, and Houlder Limited. Simon Parry comments: "Real demand for safe large-scale storage systems in ports is already upon us, so it will be fascinating to see how rapidly this technology can be developed to meet the demand. We’re excited to follow developments in this area." https://hubs.la/Q02y5kr30 #marineengineering #batterytech #energystorage #greentech #sustainability

Could #tidalenergy be a bigger variable in the #bluetech future than it is today? Minesto is developing an audacious underwater kite generator that suggests how ocean power may need to be tapped through myriad and diverse methods ("a thousand shots on goal" as Brad Ack at Ocean Visions aptly describes it). The case for #tidal in that mix is tricky. On the one hand, tidal forces are reliable, predictable and scalable. What's more, the density of flowing water has higher energy potential than blowing wind. On the other hand, tidal power equipment is expensive to install, operates in a hostile, corrosive environment and is constrained by hydro-geoegraphy. Environmental impact on marine life is more of an open question, though turbine blades in most systems turn slower than wind blades. (See more: Tidal energy could be huge – why isn't it? https://lnkd.in/ggVjRkZz) Ocean power innovations, like cleantech more broadly, will most likely require an all-of-the-above mindset in the decade ahead, with the integration of wind, floating solar, wave and tidal into novel, hybrid configurations. We suspect tidal power breakthroughs from players such as Nova Innovation in Scotland, EEL ENERGY in France and Verdant Power, Inc. right here in New York may be a strategic part of the #blueeconomy. https://lnkd.in/e3iFYZQq
