As in, it's our fastest-growing product from an actual revenue perspective ever. What we're doing isn't "cute." It's earning real money for our customers and hence for us... There are tons of unanswered design questions around AI, and I need a leader to help. Selling an AI employee is different than selling a feature. You don't "give feedback" to a feature to retrain it. You will define, design, and refine frictionless end-to-end service and support experiences for our chatbot and voice (IVR) technologies including Generative AI-powered experiences. Job Description : 3+ years experience in conversation design for voice/chat. Some experience in designing for Generative AI powered experiences (prompt engineering/prompt chaining) Understand how data from API calls, databases, and other underlying technologies fit into experience design and collaborate with developers on solutions. Strong ability to translate product needs into usable conversation designs. Detail-oriented, unfazed by technical detail, committed to flawless execution. Customer-centric mindset with empathy for the user experience Ability to participate in technical discussions and help make technical trade-offs. Work Flow : Work closely with the Product, UX, Engineering, Data Analytics teams to define, deliver, and refine conversational AI experiences that are effective, engaging, and consistent across all modalities. Create sample dialogs, conversational flow diagrams, and prototypes to effectively communicate voice and text interactions and design ideas. Conceptualize and iterate on end-to-end designs for conversational user interfaces and content. Guide intent identification and the associated phrases, entities, contexts, and business rules that define distinct conversational experiences. Perform analysis of conversation paths and flows to identify opportunities and inform future designs and refine the production dialog flows. Apply concepts and practices related to Natural language Processing/Understanding, sentiment analysis, Intent classification, dialog flows, text-to-speech, and speech-to-text to the conversational design process. Analyze current customer experiences to define friction points and create seamless and effortless experiences. Educate internal colleagues and stakeholders to understand the key concepts of conversation design. Build trust and effective relationships with peers/cross-functional teams and provide leadership across the product, engineering, and business teams. #CXD #Remote #Austin #hiring #GenerativeAI #AI #UX

We're on the brink of a new trend as software becomes faster and cheaper with better tooling and AI. The Product (Design) Engineer is the hottest new role at Y Combinator companies. A new role, blending software skills with a focus on solving customer problems and a holistic understanding of the product. This will also mean 👇 → Fewer traditional software engineers and "coding monkeys". → There is less need for Product Owners as teams will handle the delivery without hand-holding. → Fewer UI/UX designers and instead a lead Product Designer setting guidelines and principles for the Product Design Engineers. Do companies really think that developers and engineers are more desirable hires for conversation design projects than designers? Engineers have had the spotlight since the 60's when the space race was ramping up. Interacting with generative and conversational AI is less an engineering problem and more a user experience design problem. Your AI system could have mind-blowing capabilities but if the interface and user experience sucks - who cares! Guess who I asked for an opinion about this? To hiring managers - hire more conversation designers who are trained and experienced in empathy and in understanding what humans need. Is your company struggling with product research initiatives? Everyone is talking about the new Miro AI today. I tried synthesizing data with FigJam and Miro months ago and the results were not good. Now, they may improved but the fact is you can accomplish more when you learn prompt engineering and the limitations of each AI model. A few months back I was doing competitive analysis and research for a project I wanted to build with a few people. I was able to synthesize hundreds of comments from LinkedIn and Twitter threads. Trying to scrape the data based on targeting CSS selectors wasn't efficient due to the HTML markup of each platform so I used annotated screenshots to "lightly" train an AI vision model on which data points I wanted and then fed the model a bunch of comment thread images. Yes, you read that correctly. Data scraping via screenshots! I scraped the features and value props from competitor websites, G2 reviews, and performed sentiment analysis, pattern recognition, and standardized the data before organizing them into Notion tables using AI and agents. It was weeks of research done in a few days! https://lnkd.in/eqGGJZcx Recently someone mentioned a trend with teams struggling to do research efficiently and effectively and I was surprised, to say the least. I honestly thought companies were all over this kind of stuff and that's why it's been so hard to get a job now that 1 person can do the job of 2 or 3. Does anyone else think that adding AI in front of your job title is plain dumb? 🤨 I’m seeing “AI product managers”, “AI product designers”, mostly “AI waiters”… AI is a technology you can *optionally* use to solve a customer’s/user’s problem. Your job, is not to squeeze that technology in the solution… Your job is find these problems, learn how you can solve them best (not necessarily using AI, LLMs, etc), the deliver that solution. Also, guess what! Everyone works with, and is building some kind of AI system these days. 🤯 You’re not special just because you added two letters to your job title. Stop contributing to the vocabulary inflation/flatulence! #ux #product #design
