Tetris 0 World 2. I recently posted about how 13-year-old Willis Gibson became the first person in history to 'beat' Tetris, crashing the so-called 'unbeatable' game at level 157*. Less than *two weeks later*, Fractal, a pro-Tetris player beat Tetris again -crashing the notriously hard game in an even quicker time at level 155. A human player beat Tetris for the first time ever on December 21st. Did that grab your attention? Mine too, so I watched this video and to my surprise there is a ton to consider and unpack in this achievement. In the video there is a good example of how AI can be used to assist in human achievement while also highlighting a unique relationship between code and users. There is a lot of talk these days about technological singularity. I think in most of those discussions, we are drastically underestimating the competitive spirit and ingenuity of the human mind. We learned how to harness charged particles in a manner that could mimic human thought. As a species we did this in under 200 years (10 generations). This video shows the progression of achievement and finishes with an interesting concept of humans and machines reaching a state of harmony that would theoretically make the game limitless (as opposed to beating each other). Very interesting theoretical concept. Also, the video is just really cool because, you know, Tetris. Give it a watch. https://lnkd.in/gcxwC4bS
