People Leaders are taking on more than ever before. Not only are they tasked with managing the intricate intricacies of human resources, but they also often find themselves shouldering the emotional weight of their organizations. As the frontline responders to employee concerns, conflicts, layoffs, compliance issues, and crisis management, HR leaders play a pivotal role in maintaining the well-being of both their workforce and their organization. However, this responsibility often comes at a cost to their own mental health. Many find themselves in the role of unofficial therapists, navigating complex interpersonal dynamics and shouldering the emotional labor of their colleagues. In this webinar, we will explore the impact of these challenges on the mental health of People Leaders and provide insights into how to recognize and address the signs of burnout, stress, and compassion fatigue. We will also equip attendees with practical tools and techniques for establishing healthy boundaries, managing stress, and seeking support when needed. As leaders we face challenges with employees. The shift to focusing on awareness to mental health does not mean that we magically understand our employees. As a professional coach and mentor I have encountered managers that complain about spoiled and entitled employees. However, it is more likely the employee is signalling their distress to you and you are not seeing it. This does not mean they are not happy with you, it means they are unhappy and in need of help. If you are struggling with how to support an employee that comes to you with deep personal problems while still making sure that as a manger you fulfil your work commitments and obligations, I recommend listening to Amy Brann's insights and taking this course. I just finished the course “How to Support Your Employees' Well-Being” by Amy Brann! Check it out: https://lnkd.in/ewJUXJZz #peoplemanagement #employeewellness

According to our latest survey, half of managers don’t feel equipped to support their staff’s wellbeing. A lack of support can have a negative impact on team performance and morale, even leading to absenteeism and staff turnover. But managers shouldn’t have to become 'accidental counsellors'. Sonder gives your people a place to go for expert medical and mental health support. This takes the pressure off over-stretched managers, and allows them to get back to doing what they do best. Discover more survey insights in our latest blog, link in the comments. 👇 #WorkplaceWellbeing #Leadership

I really like this article from Sandra Boyd, who leads Organization and Talent Development at B Riley Farber. With almost 65% of employees stating that they experienced burnout in the last year, we need a more complete solution to support employee mental health in the workforce. Managers must play a key role in this, but they can only do so if they have the proper training and unfortunately most organizations that I know are not spending resources to train their managers.
