Couldn’t be prouder of our own Olivia Mills for this recognition. She has led our Gender focus group since 2021, not only supporting women, but also men - working with the whole business to identify the barriers that enable everyone to thrive… some of our achievements…. ⭐️Agile working… opening a bigger talent pool (and no we we are not ordering everyone back in 5 days a week). We work around our customer, teams and our people - it’s possible! ⭐️Parental support group (for all genders) ⭐️Menopause support group and free prescriptions and private company GP ⭐️Mental health support, with specific initiatives that support Men’s mental health Plus plus plus… And in the time Olivia has led our focus group - outcomes prove impact…. ⭐️Over 40% of our leadership roles are held by women ⭐️Our gender pay gap has reduced every year, standing at 11% today (still too high) but one of the lowest in the industry and halving since 2021. ⭐️54% of promotions have gone to women with 63% in senior leadership positions in the last 12 months. Rebecca mentioned ‘we need to make it relevant to the younger generations.’ As a young professional I feel I am in a good place to share my thoughts on how we can make it more relevant for that new wave of talent. Before I worked within the logistics industry, I knew very little about it, but what I did know was the names of multiple companies, and the only reason for this was my love of sport. When I think DP World and FedEx I think golf. When I think CEVA Logistics/CMA CGM and DHL, I think F1 and Ferrari. Why is this relevant? Because this taps into the younger audience and probes questions that they may not consider without seeing that big logo on the side of an F1 car or behind Rory McIlroy winning his next major (one day soon). A more attractive industry = More female talent More female talent in the younger generations means more chance of female senior leaders in years to come. I remember when my mentor and friend, Stacy, invited me to attend the WBENC-ORV Dayton luncheon and I had the chance to network with other women business owners. Stacy even won a free weekend to drive one of these great GM cars! But what made this experience even more exciting was the chance to hear from a special guest - a supplier diversity from General Motors.
