Bringing you closer to real tech | SWE III @ Google | Institute Gold Medalist @ IIITH | First Inventor @ Adobe | Ex-Researcher @ Precog | Speaker at 50+ Events
Cody has launched his startup and rented a huge office! He and his co-founder have organized a walk-in interview to hire new talent. 🔊 But they are hiring for various roles... Frontend engineer, UI/UX designer, Backend Engineer, QA (any a few more) 😎 To their surprise, the walk-in interviews were a big hit. But every time a candidate came, they had to open and check various doors of the office to see where their interview was! 😤 This became problematic for both the candidate and the interviewer. So, the next time they hosted walk-in interviews, they hired a day-receptionist. Her job was simple: Ask the candidate which role they have applied for and based on the role, guide them to the interview room! 💡 Adding this single layer of logic reduced the chaos, the interviews went smoothly, and the candidate had a great experience as well! ✅ In large scale tech products, there is an infrastructure layer (API GATEWAY) which handles incoming requests from clients and provides access to various back-end services as the request demands. That's it? NO! In real systems, it can do many other jobs - rate limiting, load balancing, authentication, response caching, service discovery and much more! 😮 I keep sharing such engineering bytes to keep people curious about the tech we use. Follow Aanshul and stay tuned for more. ✨ Someone asked me how the systems would look without API Gateway? Check 👇

Business Development Manager | Presales Solutions Consultant Technical Consulting • Department Collaboration • Customer Success • Engagement
What Stan Ivanov 🇺🇦 has put in words develop your organisation around sound engineering conceptß getting the basics right. Tools and Frameworks are only a means and mutable. Proper approach and thinking have a better rate of success than anything else.
🚧 We should stop hiring for frameworks and languages. 🚧 The three best frontend engineers I hired had zero past experience with the frontend frameworks we used. The team that helped quickly and safely move the most critical and complicated part of our product to Go-based microservices had no previous experience with Go. We built a few native mobile apps with engineers who didn't have previous experience building mobile apps. We perfectly maintained the GCP-based product with the help of engineers who only had AWS experience in the past. It takes days or weeks for a great engineer to start delivering great results with the tools they have zero experience with. It takes years, if at all possible, for a mediocre engineer to start providing great results, no matter how much experience they have with the tools. Learning tools is easy. Learning engineering is hard.

Hey junior/mid level UI engineers: learn how to deal with async! I've been on hiring panels for a few roles for this level and we're finding that many candidates struggle with how to deal with asynchronous JavaScript. Get a good understanding of it. We're talking promises, async await, and how to handle asynchrony in React and vanilla JS (my fav) There's a lot of nice syntactic sugar given to you with modern frameworks, but the fundamentals are very important to understand, especially working at the scale we work at.

Software Engineer @ Zoho • 150K @ LinkedIn • Inclined to build Performant and Scalable Frontend Applications • Frontend, React JS, Typescript, Javascript (ES6), Redux, Jest
I was asked ‘0’ DSA questions 🔥 BrowserStack is hiring again for “Frontend” now. Cleartrip (Flipkart) is hiring too :) One of the first unicorn I’d cracked earlier. It’s hiring back for - top frontend talents! • Fully “Remote” company • Work from anywhere • Amazing Pay 💰 (close to your FAANGs) • Cutting edge technologies • Growth culture 📈 The rounds I had were super-amazing and I completely enjoyed it from the point of keeping it purely - frontend engineering oriented rounds. Do not self reject, it’s the worse you do. Apply first, thank me later :) ⚡️ BrowserStack - https://lnkd.in/g4RQTfiS ⚡️ Cleartrip - https://lnkd.in/gBZfJsby (Edit : It took 4hrs, from when I posted the role at BrowserStack last time got filled) Whenever there has been any “new” hiring opportunity I tried to push it stronger. You can follow me Arun M, and 10x your growth in Frontend 🚀
