Really good article and I especially was interested in the following which is a major issue in our industry: The quality of charging experiences is a big factor in their research—and one that is often outside the location's control. (Charging vendors are the key players.). They found that around 15-20% of the time, chargers experienced technical issues and couldn’t effectively charge vehicles—which is why full congestion for the charging system is well below 100% utilization. When drivers encounter an unreliable charger (or app interface), they are less likely to charge at that location next time. https://lnkd.in/ejUSGAXp

Hey EV owners with JuiceBox chargers! Listen up and act fast! JuiceBox manufacturer Enel X Way is closing its North American operations tomorrow - meaning that all residential JuiceBox EV chargers will no longer be able to connect to the internet and all Enel X apps will stop working. You will need to act now to disable any JuiceBox charging schedules or risk being locked into that schedule forever. You can still program your EV to charge during off peak hours through the vehicle’s charger interface. Other brands of chargers will not be impacted. If you use JuiceBox scheduling, then: 1. We recommend that you disable all charging schedules on your JuiceBox before this Friday, October 11th. Based on current information, your charger will continue to function, but no JuiceBox settings will be able to be changed after this Friday, October 11th. 2. Disconnect your JuiceBox from your Wi-Fi network. 3. Program your EV to schedule during off peak hours (10 p.m. to 12 p.m.). Almost all EVs can be scheduled through the vehicle dashboard settings or vehicle app. This will ensure that you will continue to receive Bring Your Own Charger monthly incentives (for those enrolled in the program). If you need help switching your schedule, please contact our BYOC program partner Sagewell, Inc., at 781-303-4994 or at ev@sagewell.com. #NorwoodMA #Norwood_Light #EV #JuiceBox #EVCharger

My EV Adventure: A Shocking Reality Check 🚗⚡ Last week, I set out on an electrifying journey across Germany, determined to put the country's EV charging infrastructure to the test. Spoiler alert: It was far from the "schnell, einfach laden" (fast and easy charging) we've been promised! 😅Here's what I discovered on my rollercoaster ride: 🔍 Charger Hide and Seek: Finding charging stations felt like a real-life treasure hunt, minus the fun. QR codes and apps? More like QR codes and oops! 📱 App Overload: I now have more charging apps on my phone than social media ones. Each provider wants its own digital real estate! 💳 Payment Puzzles: Some apps asked for my IBAN. Sorry, but my digital wallet was feeling left out and confused. 🔌 Connection Conundrums: Even when I found a charger, getting it to actually charge my car was like trying to get a USB in on the first try. Spoiler: It rarely happened. The result? A lot of wasted time, a few choice words muttered under my breath, and a newfound appreciation for good old-fashioned petrol stations. 😂It's crystal clear: the EV charging experience needs a serious upgrade. We're driving into the future, but our charging infrastructure is stuck in reverse! What's been your experience with EV charging? Let's spark a conversation! ⚡ 💬 Juice Serve #JuiceSmarter #EVCharging #UserExperience #Sustainability #FutureOfMobility #GreenTech

Are you an owl or a lark? 🦉🌅 Whether you're charging late at night or early in the morning, InstaVolt's off-peak rates have you covered! #hoot PS: the best perk is the cost will be calculated based on when you start your charging session, so 15 mins to 6:00 am will still count.
🚗⚡ InstaVolt is proud to introduce off-peak pricing across our entire network! From 1st September 2024, you can charge for as little as 54p/kWh between 10pm and 6am using the InstaVolt App. We are working on extending this tariff to contactless users, aiming to complete this development before the end of the year. As always, InstaVolt is focused on delivering reliable, ultra-rapid chargers to our customers. We have worked very hard to bring this new off-peak tariff forward, ahead of the colder seasons and in light of the recently announced October energy price cap. InstaVolt continues to lead in EV charging innovation, with over 1,600 rapid chargers and another 400 in development. We remain committed to our goal of installing 11,000 ultra-rapid chargers by 2030. We've installed at least 246 EV chargers. Here's what to know to pick the right one for your home: There are two types of residential EV chargers: ⚡Level 1 - The bare minimum →plugs into a regular outlet, →charges slowly (8km/charging hour) These chargers are great for infrequent drivers and in settings like cottages where the car might sit parked for days. ⚡⚡Level 2 - The typical choice → plugs into an oven-type outlet → charges quicker (50-80km/charging hour) → has an app and provides charging information → typically weatherproof Most people choose a Level 2 charger. Charging overnight (when it's cheapest) will keep you powered for your commute, driving the kids to activities, and running errands. This is how the installation works: 1️⃣ We hardwire the unit or install an outlet for it. 2️⃣ Run wire from the charger to your electrical panel. 3️⃣ Add a panel breaker and connect it to the new circuit. 4️⃣ Mount and plug in the unit. That's it! Looking for a licensed and experienced installer? Call us at 1-844-667-6937, and we'll set you up with a free quote!

Leading digital transformations in energy transition and mobility - delivering success for businesses and customers | Capturing images of the world around my Labrador and I - davidsmartphotos.co.uk
Six weeks into my EV journey: a) I can easily do a round trip from Leeds to Leicester without recharging! b) I did have to recharge from public infrastructure when we travelled to Sussex (from Leeds). Although actually the reality is we did have to stop for food and toilet breaks (human and dog) on the outward and homebound journeys, so whilst sorting these necessities took advantage of both Ionity and BP Pulse charging stations to top up. c) I have never suffered from range anxiety. d) My home Rolec charger and iPhone Ev.Energy app sort charging out for me once a week (up to 80%) overnight when my E.On tariff is 8p/KWh. I don't miss having to visit a petrol station. e) I often find an excuse to temporarily put my foot down to accelerate past something :-) Wow! f) When I set regen to the max, one pedal driving is cool (not lazy)! g) I'm still at the 'have to clean the car inside and out' once a week stage of ownership. #electriccars #electricvehicles #evcharging #sustainability #netzero #ev #electric
