Traditional computers process information using bits, which can exist in one of two states: one or zero. Quantum computers use qubits, which can exist simultaneously in multiple states—any combination of one and zero. In problems with multiple variables, classical computers have to conduct a new calculation for each variable change. Quantum computers, however, can investigate many variables at once.

I’ve been looking into the Segment Anything Model (SAM) family provided by Meta, and the progress in computer vision is impressive. Starting with SAM, the model allows you to create detailed segmentation masks from just a simple point or box prompt. It was built using a massive dataset of over a billion masks, which explains its versatility. Since then, new versions like FastSAM, MobileSAM, and EfficientSAM have optimized this technology, making it faster and more lightweight. SAM 2 even extends these capabilities to videos, allowing users to refine objects across frames in real-time. For anyone interested in video editing or just having fun with visuals, these advancements mean you can easily identify and manipulate objects in your videos or images with minimal effort. It’s like giving everyday users professional-grade tools. However, with these benefits come some concerns. As these models get easier to use, there’s the potential for misuse in altering images or videos in ways that could mislead or invade privacy. We need to be cautious and ensure we use these tools responsibly. An important aspect to consider is how these models are hosted and how your data is handled. Depending on the setup—whether on-premises, cloud-based, or a hybrid model—there are different levels of control and security. Understanding how your data is categorized and protected is essential to make the right choice. So, what do you think about these developments in computer vision? How do you see hosting models and data categorization impacting the way we adopt these technologies? https://lnkd.in/gyy_fNBm

In today's digital age, where technology is rapidly transforming the way, we communicate and access information, one might question the relevance of traditional forms of media like radio, particularly in the context of agricultural extension. With the rise of the internet, mobile phones, and social media, which gives personalized audio-visual experiences and consultancy services, it is easy to assume that radio has lost its significance. But is it the case really? Has radio really lost its significance, or can we still use it as an effective medium for agricultural extension services? Let's find out through this article. #radio #relevancy #agriculturalextension #digitalera Ankit Mahapatra
