This article lays out perfectly the necessity for supporting families and the impact of adult mental health on infant mental health. Washington County, Wisconsin implemented specifically for the Birth to Three program: Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement, and work with an Infant Mental Health consultant. Across several measures there were improvements in both the parent-child relationship and toddler skill acquisition and development. The work Wisconsin Alliance for Infant Mental Health does is essential to broaden the access for infant/earlychildhood mental health resources to make meaningful changes for our youth. #InfantMentalHealth #EarlyChildhoodMentalHealth #ReflectiveSupervision

Everyone should have access to the information they need to ensure that K–12 students receive necessary support in and out of school. But right now, state data systems provide insufficient access to the data that helps individuals, the public, and policymakers answer their questions and make decisions that support student success. Eric is a middle school principal who wants to make accessing health services and other resources easier for his students. Jasmine is a district superintendent who wants to develop and maintain policies that help students thrive within and out of school, and be successful after graduation. Both K–12 leaders need access to data to ensure their students thrive. Our new use case dives deeper into what becomes possible when state data systems are designed to connect school and district leaders to the information they need.

How much of your education before 5th grade do you still remember? Or the exams you took? Is our current education system really serving our children well? The pressure is immense. Remember, children learn differently. Rote memorization adds little value. What matters is learning through feeling, touching, sensing, creating, failing. We might not control the education system, But we can control the environment at home. Make your home a place of fun, happiness, and innovation for your little heroes. Let it be a space where they can truly grow. Home should be a haven for learning and creativity, not just an extension of school. #EducationReform #ChildhoodLearning #HomeLearningEnvironment

When will we make the systematic changes needed to make the educational system thrive again? I have lots of ideas including increasing teacher pay, investing in our students, diversifying curriculum to meet the needs of current students, reimagining what students need to be learning, valuing individual educators and their passions, and re-humanizing the educational system. At the moment Educational systems in America are headed for collapse, which means our youth and future are at risk. When will this crisis take center stage?

Early Educator
2moI’m surprised and concerned that there isn’t mention of the implications of repeated Covid infections on children and their caregivers. Prevalence of Long Covid symptoms in children is 1.3%. This is within a percentage point of the rate of autism and type one juvenile diabetes. ZERO TO THREE, as a licensed early educator, disabled by long Covid after a 30 year career, I am counting on you to demonstrate leadership regarding airborne pathogens. One out of 10 pregnant people get #LongCOVID. It’s time for early childhood education to take the lead on Health and safety in early care settings and in public health discussions. https://www.cidrap.umn.edu/covid-19/not-little-adults-experts-say-long-covid-undercounted-misdiagnosed-kids
