Simplified Rules #pickleball One of the reasons pickleball is so popular is its straightforward rules. The game is played on a smaller court, which means less ground to cover, making it easier for beginners to get the hang of the game. Unlike tennis, where the court is much larger, pickleball's smaller court size allows players to quickly learn the positioning and movement required. Some good points made here and it is worth noting that playing an Advantage Set (lead by 2 games) of Thirty30+ (Golden Deuce) tennis is very similar to a 3rd set deciding 10-point Super-Tie-Break and can be used as an alternative match decider to shorten matches. i.e. where every game starts from 30-30 and a sudden-death 'Golden' point is played at the first Deuce resulting in a minimum of 2 points and a maximum of 3 points played per game. The International Table Tennis Federation - ITTF has genuinely made significant strides with its World Table Tennis (WTT) initiative. For decades, table tennis has traditionally been viewed as a conventional sport, though embracing commercialization is crucial for its future growth and sustainability. Currently, some fans, especially from the Chinese regions, may not fully grasp the importance of these initiatives and have vented negativity toward the associating parties. However, it is essential to promote commercialization, as its existence is vital for any sport to advance toward higher global standards and achieve further development. With proper education and positive fan engagement, the current situation could gradually change, promoting sustainable fan grassroots and healthy commercial system growth. It’s refreshing to see how this approach is transforming the sport! The increased engagement from fans globally has really elevated the excitement around table tennis, making it more accessible to a wider audience. By focusing on high-quality production and fostering fan interaction, WTT is inspiring a new generation of players and enthusiasts. The benefits for athletes are substantial, with enhanced exposure and sponsorship opportunities, while national associations are better positioned to support grassroots programs. On the rational side, i am all in and have my full support on the commercialization efforts of WTT, especially with the support from Chinese Table Tennis Association (CTTA). It’s awesome to see a country with such deep roots in the sport embrace new ideas while still keeping the essence of traditional table tennis intact.
