Just finished the course “Cybersecurity at Work” by @CarolineWong! Here are some key takeaways: 1. Email inboxes are prime targets for attacks: → Beware of phishing emails, especially those with urgent messages. → Please be careful of emails asking for account security information, authentication, or links to financial transaction sites. 2. Avoid oversharing personal information on social media: → Delay posting about visits to places until at least a week later to prevent hackers from knowing when you're away from your work desk. 3. Protect yourself from counterfeit apps. 4. Security practices: → Check if your password has been exposed using Pwned Passwords. → Always use a VPN on public WiFi to avoid making transactions or sharing sensitive information. → Secure your home WiFi network, especially if you work from home, and consider creating a separate guest network. → A strong password is one that you don't easily remember. → Use a password manager to securely store passwords. → Regularly update software to protect against known vulnerabilities that hackers exploit. 5. It's everyone's responsibility to protect information assets at work. Check it out: https://lnkd.in/dPJGyXyK #cybersecurity.

Connecting Security & Risk C-Suite with Innovating Career Opportunities, helping them fulfil their Career & Departmental Goals with Cyber Security, InfoSec & Risk Associates
Why Cyber Security Awareness & Training is Crucial in 2024? Did you know that 90% of Cyber Security Breaches Involve Human Error? In fact, all the Firewalls in the World can't Protect you when an Employee lets a Hacker in Unknowingly. Organisations collectively spend Millions of pounds a year on Firewalls, Anti-Virus Solutions, and Security Services, but they remain Vulnerable because of this one Key Factor: Human Error! Technology isn't smart enough to know the true Identity of the Person Inputting the Information or what their true Intentions are. That's why a Human Firewall is a layer of Physical Cyber Security that can help keep your "Secure" Systems Secure. With this in mind, Staff Training has to form a key part of your Defense. It's Crucial to Educate Employees about the Risks of Phishing Emails, Weak Passwords, and Social Engineering tactics. Don't let your Organisation become a Statistic. Invest in Employee Training & Awareness to Protect your Business from Cyber Threats. Let's make sure that your Organisation is safe from these Threats by Investing in Cyber Security Awareness & Training. #CyberSecurity #Training #Awareness #HumanError #Phishing #SocialEngineering #SecurityBreaches

Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, but they are increasingly becoming prime targets for cyber attacks. 🕵️♂️🔓 Just because you're small doesn't mean you're not on the hackers' radar. So, how can you protect your small business from cyber threats? Let's dive in! 1. Educate Your Team Your employees are your first line of defense. Regularly train them on recognizing phishing emails, safe browsing practices, and the importance of strong passwords. A well-informed team is less likely to click on that suspicious link! 🧠💡 2. Use Strong Passwords Speaking of passwords, make sure they are robust and unique. Use a password manager to generate and store complex passwords. Remember, "123456" is not a password; it’s an open invitation! 😂🔐 3. Update Regularly Keep all your software, including antivirus and operating systems, up to date. Those annoying update reminders? They’re there for a reason. Each update is a step towards closing security loopholes. 🔄🛡️ 4. Backup Your Data Regularly back up your data and store it in a secure, off-site location. If a cyber attack does occur, you'll be glad you have that backup to fall back on. Think of it as your digital safety net. 🕸️💾 5. Invest in Cybersecurity Tools Firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems are your best friends. Invest in these tools to help protect your network from unauthorized access. It’s better to be safe than sorry! 🛡️🔍 6. Develop an Incident Response Plan Prepare for the worst by having a clear action plan in case of a cyber attack. This should include steps to contain the breach, assess the damage, and notify the necessary parties. Think of it as your cyber disaster drill. 🚨📝 Protecting your small business from cyber attacks might seem daunting, but with the right measures in place, you can significantly reduce the risks. Stay vigilant, stay updated, and don’t forget to have a little fun along the way. After all, cyber security doesn't have to be all doom and gloom! 😉 #SmallBusiness #CyberSecurity #StaySafeOnline #DigitalDefense #CyberAware

Social media might be undermining your cybersecurity awareness. And it's not just about the phishing scams in your DMs. Social media platforms are flooded with: 👉 "Quick fix" cybersecurity tips 👉 One-size-fits-all protection advice 👉 Trendy but unproven security software recommendations Many of us jump on these cybersecurity trends without considering if they're truly suited for our organization's specific needs. This approach can leave gaps in your defenses, potentially leading to disastrous data breaches. To sidestep these pitfalls, steer clear of these 5 overhyped cybersecurity fads: 🚫Free Antivirus Software: Sure, it's free, but it often lacks the comprehensive protection that businesses require, leaving critical assets vulnerable. 🚫Password Patterns: Using easy-to-remember patterns may seem convenient but makes it simple for hackers to guess your next move. 🚫Public Wi-Fi for Work: It's handy, but without a secure VPN, you're broadcasting your data to any prying eyes. 🚫Generic Cybersecurity Training: Not all threats are the same. Training that doesn't address specific threats to your sector can leave staff ill-prepared. 🚫"Set and Forget" Firewalls: Assuming a firewall alone will keep you safe is like locking your front door but leaving the windows wide open. Relying on these trends could do more harm than good to your cybersecurity posture. Want to truly safeguard your organization? Ditch the social media advice. Instead, drop me a message with "Secure" and let's tailor a cybersecurity strategy that actually fits your healthcare organization's unique needs. #HealthcareCybersecurity #CyberSafetyTips #DataProtection #SecureHealthcare #InfoSec
