Transforming Architectural Masterpieces into Art 🏛️ The architecture of a real building serves as the foundation of our creative process. From this base, we’ve reimagined iconic world structures like the Taj Mahal, Palace of Westminster, and Sagrada Familia through a blend of architecture styles and concept art. 🔍 Exploring Details: We’ve meticulously studied the details as windows, doors, columns, and facades of these buildings, revisiting the standard modeling pipeline. Starting with high-poly models, we sculpted them for high-precision detail to bring depth to each scene. Every line and curve is an ode to architectural grandeur. 🕊️ The Wonderful Bird: One of the most intricate aspects of our project was designing the bird, a metaphor for world energy. To achieve lifelike wing movement, we focused on anatomical sculpting, ensuring the bird’s flight echoed reality. The bird’s form is inspired by architectural elements—the windows and spans became feathers, and the building lines shaped the bird itself. 💡 Lighting and Depth: The interplay of light and shadows brought another layer of storytelling to the project. From geometric corridors inspired by Dr. Strange to shadowed facades in the London scene, depth became the canvas on which the narrative unfolded. Mastering Challenging Art Relocations: William Tracey & Sons in Action When the Office of Public Works, Art Management division, needed expert handling for their artwork relocation from a building on Adelaide Road, Dublin 2, they turned to William Tracey & Sons (#Tracey’s). The Department of Environment, Climate & Communications' five intricate pieces of artwork, suspended six meters overhead, required precise and careful removal. THE PROCESS: 🔷 Preparation Works: Our team safeguarded the atrium floor with 10mm corex board and set up perimeter barriers. 🔷 Scaffold Setup: A six-meter mobile scaffold tower was erected by our skilled subcontractor. 🔷 Artwork Removal: Three pieces were carefully detached from suspended cables, followed by the remaining two pieces which required a different approach involving ropes and precise coordination from the 5th and 2nd floors. 🔷 Safe Packing: Once all pieces were removed, they were safely packed and prepared for transport. THE OUTCOME: The entire task was completed smoothly and efficiently in just one day. Both the client and the building manager were delighted with the flawless execution. Art Removal Mastery: William Tracey & Sons Delivers Seamless Execution When the Office of Public Works, Art Management division, needed expert handling for a challenging art removal project, they turned to William Tracey & Sons (WTS), a Cronin Group company. Tasked with removing five intricate pieces of artwork suspended six metres overhead in an atrium, our team delivered a seamless and efficient solution. 🌊 Underwater Sculpture (Performance of Understanding, September 27 - November 10, 2023) 🌊 At the end of every semester, we have a two-week Performance of Understanding—a chance to apply everything we've learned in a creative way. For my first PoU, I chose to work with Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water. My goal was to create something impactful—something that goes beyond aesthetics. I tackled eutrophication, an issue harming our oceans, and responded with an underwater sculpture designed to promote marine life growth. Inspired by Barbara Hepworth and the organic forms around me, this sculpture became a symbol of blending creativity with purpose. The goal was to bring something to life that could not only thrive underwater but also support and restore marine ecosystems. This project made me realize how powerful art can be when it intersects with the environment—how design can contribute, inspire, and even heal. I've attached the full documentation.
